Not as tourist trappy as i expected, but we also went at a time when a lot of other tour coaches weren’t there. I imagine that would greatly hamper the experience. Not just Dracula stuff, they do have a corny but fun exhibit on vampires and folklore in some rooms. The souvenir quality could be better but in general the self guided route inside is well managed and the descriptions informative. Would recommend reading up on Vlad’s history more on your own or with a guide before going. Best photo spot w castle view is inside the garden beside the castle restaurant.

The castle was amazing as a building and with the surrounding forest. However, the exhibition was based on the myth of Vlad as a vampire. Even the costums displayed was from movies. I was expecting to learn about the true person and how he lived. The torture exhibition was a mash up of different eras and places. The final tunnel is not worth the ticket. It is just an elevator with screens showing ghosts.
