This was one of the most disappointing tourist attractions I’ve ever visited. It honestly feels like a tourist trap. From the moment you arrive, you’re stuck in endless lines. It starts with about an hour of waiting just to get into the castle grounds, and once you’re inside, the queues never end. Every single room is packed, and you spend the entire visit slowly moving from one line to the next until you finally reach the exit. For 120 RON, you’re basically paying to stand in line. On top of that, they try to charge you extra for almost everything, and the prices are completely unreasonable. The biggest disappointment is that there is almost nothing about Dracula inside the castle. They don’t even try to build an experience around the legend that made this place famous. If you’re expecting anything related to Dracula beyond the name, you’ll be disappointed. Even the priority ticket feels like a scam. You pay an extra 70 RON for priority access, but near the entrance nobody properly checks the tickets, so people from the regular line simply join the priority queue. Paying extra gives you little to no benefit. They didn’t even put any effort into the souvenir shops. Instead of offering unique Bran Castle or Dracula-themed souvenirs, most of the items look generic, cheap, and heavily overpriced. The whole experience feels like the organizers have stopped trying because they know people will buy tickets anyway. Rather than improving the visitor experience, they simply rely on the castle’s reputation and the Dracula name to keep attracting tourists. Romania has many beautiful castles and historic sites. I would recommend visiting almost any of them instead of wasting your time and money here.
