The castle is very interesting and it is really fun to spend time in it and learn about real history facts and inhabitants besides the imaginary Dracula story.

I absolutely love this attraction. Yes it is focused on Dracula and yes there are the obligatory shops at the base. However, the real history here is fascinating and it goes back centuries. If you look past the tourist things you find an amazing spot. The hill and the castle itself has a lot of elevation so be prepared for that. The official gift shop is not kitschy at all and has some decent trinkets for souvenirs.
