Really enjoyed our visit. The castle and grounds are well presented, there's lots of exhibits to see and lots of information about the castle, the exhibits and the occupants over the years. Plus of course the focus on Vlad ('Drac')!! We spent about 2 1/2 hours there. We paid extra for the 'Torture Chamber' visit which was interesting albeit a bit gory BUT the extra we also paid for 'The Time Tunnel' was a waste of money as there is nothing much to view! Highly recommended!!!

You climb up and everything becomes clear: there's no need to summon vampires. Bran Castle has atmosphere to spare. The walls smell of history, and on a foggy day like that (later a monumental storm hit), it gains even more charm. It's curious: the less it tries to be something it's not, the more imposing it becomes. You don't need to believe Dracula slept here to stand still before its towers and feel tiny. The view from the top is breathtaking. And inside, if you know how to look beyond the sign and the souvenir with fake blood, you find something rare: authenticity.
