The "time tunnel" is actually an elevator that takes you outside... don't waste your money on it. Regarding the area: I recommend buying souvenirs from your trip there, as they are some of the cheapest we've found in Romanian tourist sites. Please avoid Bran Castle and support the countless beautiful and authentic historical sites across Romania and Translyvania instead. I don't often post negative reviews for historical/tourist places but this one is atrocious. The Disneyland/McDonald's of Romanian tourism. Easily our worst experience in Romania. Fake tourist crap with modern canvas prints, art and costumes posing as historical antiques. It's unclear but likely that many if not the vast majority of items on display are modern reproductions. Vlad Dracula never visited this castle and has no connection to it. Big crowds of tourists clogging up every corner even in mid week during the low season (you would be crazy to come here during peak season) Instead, I recommend hiring a car and visiting stunning historical sites like Viscri, Rupea, Sighișoara (where Vlad Dracula was born) and Targoviste (where Vlad Dracula actually resided most of the time). Take your pick, literally any other castle, fort or citadel in Romania is better than this.
