I love rambling over this historic gem and have visited several times now. The surrounding markets is of course touristy, but its an interesting castle that was clearly used as a sentinel fortress. From various observation windows, all access to the valley can be seen. It was built strategically, Im guessing, to warn the inhabitants of Brasov should an invasion occur and also to provide a vantage point for fire power upon said invaders. I wish somone would open a large public asphalted parking lot nearby and offer shuttles to the site. Parking is difficult to find if you do not arrive early in the day, and there are a few lots owned by locals but they are expensive and poorly managed. There are plenty of food options nearby as well as many souvenir and craft stalls for browsing and shopping.
