Free carer and disabled access, although you do have to prove with documents. (My daughter has downs syndrome, which you can clearly see and they still wanted proof) The access card worked for us from the UK as we don't get a 'certificate' of disability when you have a disabled child, which is what they ask for. There is a lift, which they don't tell you about. For those that can walk, there are a lot of steep uneven winding staircases. I noticed the lift when we were on the ground floor on the way out and had finished the tour and asked if I could go down with my daughter as she did really well but was struggling and tired. She was tired from the walk up and all the stairs she climbed. We were told no and needed a ticket. I argued with the woman and she still insisted I needed a ticket. So, for those with disabled people who can walk, look this up before you enter. She then said my daughter could go on her own only, without me in the lift to which I argued again as my daughter has a learning difficulty too and she wouldn't know where to go from the exit (i can't leave her on her own). I was fuming at this point. So, in the end, after lots of arguments, she let us both down. I just want to make people aware, for those who can't walk or struggle to walk there is a lift up to the ground floor of the castle and back down again and that's the only bit you'll be able to access if you're in a wheel chair. The rest is stairs. It's only a small castle. My daughter is slow on the stairs and can only do 1 step at a time and she managed, very slowly and with lots of patience and ignoring other tourists. She managed. I'm glad we went. It's worth the visit. You just need to know your stuff before you go if you travel with someone with SEND.

The castle itself if nice, though a bit small. There isn’t really a connection to Dracula at all though so don’t expect anything on that front.
