Although worth the money, I felt like the castle wasn't sure if it should tell the Queen Marie story or the Dracula story. It doesn't do either particularly well, but it was enjoyable. I

(Translated by Google) We arrived after about a 3-hour journey from Bucharest, but it's definitely worth the trip. We accidentally found a bag of garlic in the part of the castle that isn't open to the public, which made us wonder if they still believe in the legend. Businesses in the area are very expensive, and the entrance fee to the castle is quite high. Don't buy tickets online.

(Translated by Google) It's always very busy and therefore very crowded. It's worth seeing from the outside, but the castle itself is completely overcrowded.

My third time at the castle definitely turned into a tourist trap the entrance fee has risen and now what was once free you have to pay extra for example the torture room. Line of people coming through the castle I remember being here and maybe 10-12 people total throughout.

(Translated by Google) Worth the trip, not long but cute, don't miss the indoor exhibition, super interesting (Original)

Full of tourist traps. If you don't visit the castle itself, there's nothing to do there. Everything is overpriced and not worth it. The few restaurants that are around are pretty good tho, overpriced as hell still, but the food is good at least

First of all, this castle has nothing to do with Dracula. If you’re going for that reason, I’d suggest thinking twice. However, the castle itself (not the items inside, but the structure itself) was quite beautiful. It’s worth visiting for the atmosphere. Aside from that, the additional torture instruments museum was actually more enjoyable than the rest of the exhibits. Also, the woman at the entrance selling traditional Romanian masks was very sweet — you should definitely buy something from her.

History and fantasy are combined in the self-guided tour. Worth the admission price.

(Translated by Google) The castle itself is well-preserved and interesting to visit. However, we had a couple of negative experiences that somewhat marred the visit. First, upon arrival, we saw that an audio guide was available, but when we inquired about it, we were told it wasn't possible to use it, not because it didn't exist, but because "they weren't working." We were advised to read the information panels in each room, but these were only available in Romanian and English, which could be a problem for some visitors. Furthermore, we purchased the extra pass (20 lei per person) to visit the torture chamber. The chamber itself is interesting, and we believe it's worth seeing, but the experience was quite disappointing due to the staff's behavior. There were two women in charge of checking QR codes, but they were more focused on talking amongst themselves than attending to visitors. One of them even started talking loudly on her phone while people were passing through unchecked, which completely broke the atmosphere of the room. Listening to a loud phone conversation while reading descriptions of torture instruments is quite anticlimactic. In summary, the castle is worth a visit, but there are organizational and customer service aspects that clearly need improvement.
