Absolutely not worth the hype and the price. The gardens are nice but the castle itself is just ki d of random. The parking around is 30 lei for 2 hours or 40 for 3 hours. Beware also of the hours, sometimes there are big groups and you have to wait a long time to get in and during the visit there are queues too.

Probably the most popular tourist destination in Romania. Contrary to popular belief, the actual historic person, Vlad the Impaler who inspired Count Dracula, did not spend substantial time at Bran Castle. The exhibits within the Castle that are related to the Dracula or Romanian mythical creature lore is in my opinion unnecessary. I really liked how one could learn more about Queen Marie and Princess Ileana, and Bran Castle’s (actual) role as a Royal Residence. Bran Castle sits atop a rugged gorge which makes for an impressive sight to uphold. It is also surrounded by a forested area so wildlife could be sighted from time to time. I had the rare chance to see a red fox pup wandering around the Castle grounds.

Nice castle in the forest and mountains of Rumania. The castle is interesting to see, but not to excepcional and "Dracula" was never here. It was the inspiration to his castle in the books though. It is interesting to see the weapons and gardens and the inner courtyard is beautiful also the location is nice. The gardens a worth a little walk.
