A small and fairly ordinary castle nestled on a hillside. The main focus of the experience is the history of the former Romanian royal family, with almost no information about Vlad the Impaler. If you’re expecting a Dracula-themed visit, you’ll mostly find it outside the castle—where numerous stalls sell all kinds of souvenirs printed with Dracula imagery. That said, parking was very convenient—right next to the entrance—and we highly recommend booking a guided tour. It saved us from standing in line and helped make the visit smoother and more informative. While not the most exciting castle, it’s worth a stop if you’re in the area and interested in royal history.
