Bran Castle is one of the most iconic places in Romania with its Gothic vibe and the famous Dracula legend. From the outside, it’s truly impressive and you can instantly feel that mysterious atmosphere. Inside, with period furniture, stone corridors, and narrow passageways, it really feels like you’ve been transported back in time. But to be honest, some parts inside get quite tight, and combined with the crowds, it can be pretty hard to move around. Still, it’s definitely worth seeing, but whether it’s really necessary to go inside depends on what you’re looking for—just seeing it from the outside might be enough for some people.

I'm a fan of history and historic monuments and unfortunatly Bran Castle fails to deliver on that front. Bran Castle in its current state barely resembles it's historical self from the inside, save for a few pieces of furniture belonging to queen Marie (which qualifies only as very recent history) everything has been repainted and replaced. The information signs on the wall are both long and lacking in any interesting information missing both possible target demographics. The entrance line is very long, we waited about an hour to enter. If you decided to go anyway I reccomend not buying the time tunnel it's simply an elevator with screens and the explenations at the bottom are lacking, the torture room might be worth it though, I enjoyed some of the experience but it has some disturbing descriptions of mutilation the worst of which are mutilation of the female genitals which definately aren't for everyone, most of the the torture devices on display are actually of austrian origin and have very little to do with Bran Castle historically.

There’s barely any space or time to read the wall texts, which takes away from the experience. The torture room displays a wide variety of instruments from across Europe to appeal the crowd that came for Dracula. Only visit this part if you have a strong stomach. As for the Time Elevator attraction, it might appeal to very young visitors, but most others will probably find it a waste of additional waiting time. The view from the castle and gardening are amazing.

Not worth it anymore. You have to pay extra now if you want to go in with the fast lane, otherwise you might wait 1h+ for the entrance. The Dracula exhibition is closed since a long time already and there is only a small part for the mystical background. Of course none of this is written outside.
