Building generally unimpressive compared to other castles in Romania (Pells etc). If you must see it I recommend taking a photo at the fence and saving yourself time and money.

Now in 2025 on the way to Budapest I thought of stopping with my friend who had never visited Romania, at Bran Castle because she was curious to see where Dracula lived in Transylvania 😅. We were there on a Wednesday and the first challenge was finding parking. We only found paid parking in a large courtyard for which we paid 20RON at the Cristi restaurant (or something like that). The resort is very clean and there are many stalls with souvenirs and food but something very important is missing: toilets! When we wanted to enter the Castle at the ticket machines I was left speechless -as they say in Romanian-, when I saw that the entrance price was 18€/person. My friend who wanted to see the castle from the beginning said that it was not worth paying so much for the visit because this price is not even in Germany for many castles. So we left without visiting Bran. Oh, and one more thing: they positioned the entrance turnstiles a long way from the castle in such a way that you can't take a good picture unless you buy a ticket. Am fost acolo intr-o zi de miercuri si prima provocare a fost sa găsim parcare. Nu am gasit decât parcare cu plată intr-o curte mare pentru care am plătit 20RON la restaurant Cristi (sau ceva de genul) . Stațiunea e foarte curată si sunt multe tarabe cu suveniruri si mâncare dar lipsește ceva foarte important : toaletele! Când am vrut să intrăm la Castel la automatele de bilete am rămas prost -cum se spune pe româneste- , când am văzut că prețul de întrare e 18€/persoană. Prietena mea care a vrut de la început să vadă castelul a spus că nu merită să dăm atât de mult pentru vizitare pentru că prețul ăsta nu e nici in Germania la multe castele. Asa că am plecat fără să vizităm Branul. Aaa si încă ceva: au poziționat turnichetele de întrare la distanță mare de castel in asa fel încât nu poti nici o poză bună să faci dacă nu cumperi bilet.

The castle itself was pretty and interesting to see although they turned it into a tourist trap with the dracula thing. It is also difficult to reach without a car. I had to go with a tour group and we were rushing and paid more to go in faster. Normal ticket is around 50 lei and fast lane is around 150 lei. There are a lot of market and food stalls outside, and a haunted house ride.
