(Translated by Google) As positive aspects I would note the exterior of the castle and the architecture, plus the inner courtyard and the surrounding landscapes that are beautifully visible from the castle. As for the negative aspects, I start with the fair at the entrance, I think they have no business having so many stalls with Chinese people in that area. Then, as you get closer, you start to see the huge queue from the ticket machines, something horror about the castle, we waited around 2 hours until we actually entered the castle. The ticket price seems exaggerated to me, 90 lei per person without the 2 additional rooms for which you have to pay extra money. Inside, it is arranged far below its potential, in some places they put some images/video clips displayed by video projectors, seriously? You don't have time to look and read because people come from behind and want to pass. Overall I was disappointed, but I still recommend a visit for the history and the building itself. In interior este amenajat mult sub potential, in unele locuri au pus niste imagini/videoclipuri afisate de videoproiectoare, serios?

(Translated by Google) Spectacular! What is the reality and how far does the legend go? (Original) Espectacular!

(Translated by Google) The castle was quite crowded. Plus, it's very small and cramped inside. Time slots would have been helpful.

(Translated by Google) If you're expecting a dark castle, you'll be disappointed...and then there were way too many people moving around in very tight spaces. And Vlad apparently only slept there one night; the legend was born when Bram Stoker chose it as Dracula's castle after seeing it on a postcard.

(Translated by Google) A document issued by King Louis I of Hungary (1342-1382) on 17 November 1377 in Zvolen confirms to the Saxons of the See of Brașov (totaque communitas Saxonum sedis Brassouiensis) the right to build, as promised, at their own expense and with their craftsmen, a new stone fortress at Bran (promiserunt novum castrum in lapide Tydrici edificare). On this occasion, the king promises the people of Brașov that if Wallachia falls “into our hands”, then the customs office will be moved from Rucăr (Ruffa Arbor) to Bran. The reference in the text of the 1377 document to a “new stone fortress” allows the deduction that the stone fortification, which was to be built on this site, was preceded by an older border fortification. This fortress, probably made of wood, was built by the Teutonic Knights between 1211-1225. It is attributed to the magister Theodorikus. In the 13th century, the territory of the Bran fortress was subject to the jurisdiction of the royal county of Alba Iulia. In 1395, Sigismund of Luxembourg, German emperor and king of Hungary, used Bran castle as a strategic base for an incursion into Wallachia, as a result of which he removed the voivode Vlad the Usurper, the rival of Mircea the Elder, his vassal. Bran in the Josephine Map of Transylvania, 1769-1773 In 1407, Sigismund granted Mircea the control of the castles of Bran (without the related domain) and Bologa. Bran remained under the authority of Wallachia until 1419. In 1427, Bran castle passed from the property of the see of Brașov to that of the Crown of Hungary, which financed the fortification and expansion works. In 1498, the Bran Castle was leased by the Hungarian royalty to the See of Brașov. On December 1, 1920, at the initiative of Mayor Karl Ernst Schnell, the Brașov City Council donated the castle to Queen Maria of Romania, in gratitude for her contribution to the realization of the Great Union. Upon the queen's death in 1938, the castle was inherited by her favorite daughter, Princess Ileana, married to Archduke Anton, a member of the former Habsburg imperial family. During World War II, Ileana returned with her family to the country and lived in Bran. She established a hospital for war victims. After 1948, Bran Castle was nationalized and became the property of the Romanian state. The castle was opened to public visits starting in 1956, being arranged as a museum of feudal history and art. In 1987 it began restoration, work largely completed in 1993. The castle reopened as a museum and re-entered the tourist circuit. On May 18, 2006, after a period of legal procedures, the castle was legally returned to the heirs of the Habsburg family. However, the Romanian state, through the Ministry of Culture, will administer it temporarily for the next three years. On June 1, 2009, the castle came into full possession of the heirs of Princess Ileana: Archduke Dominic of Habsburg, Archduchess Maria Magdalena Holzhausen and Archduchess Elisabeta Sandhofer (Wikipedia).

The home of "Count Dracula" well worth a visit, but be prepared for a long walk uphill to start your visit and equally a long queue to enter at certain times, with coach parties arriving. We were one of these coach parties but walked straight in, probably because it was later in the day. The market you walk through to enter the castle is a recommendation also, very good prices, better than the castle shop and Bucharest city.

(Translated by Google) I am quite disappointed. 60lei per person entrance fee. Torture chamber +20, elevator +30. In the castle itself, Vlad (Dracula) is mentioned “only” once, and that’s just that he ruled there. Dracula’s castle and you don’t learn anything about him at all, but there is enough information about all the others who ruled there. The elevator takes you to the lowest floor where there is at least a little information about Vlad. For me, quite a disappointment, I was expecting something like Bojnice Castle where it’s interactive, there are different stories, etc. I didn’t get that here. To som tu nedostal.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful and relaxing. I was there during the week and it was a little crowded but still quite ok. Price a little exaggerated. The park next door is well kept and has a lot of green space (Original) Frumos si relaxant. Pret putin exagerat.
