We went there on Monday, good choice because there was basically no people, also because it's not really the season. As many people we fell for the "Dracula Castle" story which doesn't describe it correctly at all. The castle looks okay from the outside, but that's about it, the nature around the castle looks better than the building itself. Collectively we spend around 5h one way to get there from Bucharest and it was a waste of both time and money. Castle is very renovated, keeping little of it's historical value, Dracula is mentioned briefly and reference to him is scarce, whole exposition isn't really comprehensive and it's seems like all items holding historical value have been removed from the place, leaving it very empty, disappointing and worth seeing from the distance. Maybe if you're around, very bored and rich you could go there, but if you consider travelling from far like us, just spare yourself the disappointment and spend the money on some nice meal in a proper restaurant.

I didn’t know what to expect with this visit, but I admit I was still disappointed. The castle looks nice from the outside, but there isn’t a lot of historical pieces and artworks inside. It looks overall very renovated and empty, and most of the things to see are panels of information. Also, we mostly learn about specific eras, like the reign of the Romanian queen in 20th century and also about the construction of the castle, but not much more. I was surprised that the Bran castle was advertised as dracula’s castle, but overall seeing no objects or rooms related to this figure, as well as very little information about him. I overall think that the ratio of price and struggle to arrive at the castle compared to the reward of visiting it, isn’t worth the trouble, and it’s obviously a tourist trap.

Bran is my favorite Castle! I visited many times and will visit again and again. It’s the best up-kept Castle from Romania and love the scenery, where is located. Interesting history and architecture. I recommend to everyone to visit at least once. You will love it, I’m sure. The Bran town is nice, plenty of places to eat in the vicinity.
