The buildings is impressive. But the way it is run ruins it. For starters there are loads of childish animations about ghost in rooms that are too small creating a huge queue and bottlenecks. There are a number of extra charges to see other areas not included in the price of the ticket, which is already expensive. Also a number of the English signs are damaged, meaning they are hard to read. This is made worse by the fact your tour guide from outside is not allowed to speak to you. Instead you have to pay for one of the castles guides. It just all felt like a money grab and left a soar taste in the mouth.

Visited here a lot during my summer camp job. And it’s absolutely amazing !! The views from the top are just breathtaking and all the history is lovely. The staff don’t speak much English but enough to get you in. If you are a student remember your student ID and get a discount going in. You can spend hours walking around and looking at every corner of the place. This is one of my favourite places in Romania to see and do and the surrounding area is great too! However you can get the same souvenirs outside in the market area of the castle as you do in the gift shop area for less if you are looking at getting a lot of them.
