If you are travelling all the way from Bucharest specifically for the Dracula atmosphere, expectations may need adjusting. One hopes for something darker, more dramatic, perhaps more ruinous, something that carries a tangible gothic weight. Instead, the interior feels more like a modest historical museum, focused on the real figures who lived there rather than the fictional legend that made it famous. There is educational value, and for those already in the region it is certainly worth a visit. But as a dedicated day trip from Bucharest, it feels somewhat underwhelming relative to the build up. The sense of Dracula is more branding than lived atmosphere. Interesting, yes. Essential, perhaps not.
