I wanted to show them what it was really like to live in a castle and to explain to them the difference between reality and stories. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. The castle seems to have lost its authenticity and historical charm, everything gravitating almost exclusively around the story of Dracula. I found cheap dolls and kitsch representations that have nothing to do with the real history of the place. The obsessive emphasis on the commercial side completely overshadows the cultural and historical value that such a monument should have. In addition to this disappointment, I also had a very unpleasant experience. Although we paid for tickets for five people and stood in line civilly, we were repeatedly pushed aside to make room for groups of foreign tourists. With two small children next to me, I felt ignored and treated as if our presence mattered less. There was not a smile, an explanation or a minimum of respect. The staff's attention was exclusively directed at the organized groups, and we felt invisible. We could not wait to get out and leave there. I left with a bitter taste and regret that a place with so much historical potential has come to prioritize commercial spectacle over authenticity and respect for all visitors.
