(⚠️Je vous conseille toutefois d’y aller très tôt le matin ou très tard le soir car le château est tout petit et vite bondé + de vous passer des suppléments tickets pour la vidéo et compagnie qui cassent un peu le côté brut et authentique du lieu.)

On a cold and rainy day, my family of 4 visited Bran Castle. The weather gave our visit a really fitting atmosphere. While we have always thought of Bran in the context of Dracula lore, our visit made us realize how silly that all is. This was a fine example of medieval architecture lovingly preserved and added to over centuries. The staff giving tours were very knowledgeable and clearly were proud to share the history of this castle with visitors. The little modern touches like very clean bathrooms and multilingual explanations and signs were most welcome. The staff at the gift store were particularly kind to my daughter, who was cold and tired. Set aside any preconceived notions of what Bran should be, and come with an open mind - you will be delighted with the warm hospitality of the caretakers and learn something new.
