Our group was really excited for the hike to see the Hollywood sign, and at first, things seemed promising. Sarah, our tour guide, was clearly knowledgeable and shared interesting facts along the way, which we appreciated. However, toward the end of the trip, the experience took a disappointing turn. Sarah repeatedly emphasized that she relies heavily on tips, almost to the point where it felt like pressure rather than a genuine suggestion. When we gave her a tip, she visibly reacted with disappointment at the amount and made us feel awkward and guilty for not giving more. This behavior was incredibly unprofessional and left a bad taste in our mouths. The most upsetting moment came when she actually chased us down to say, “Hey, if that’s all you can afford, thanks.” This comment felt sarcastic and rude, making it clear that our effort to tip was somehow insufficient in her eyes. We understand and respect tipping culture, but no one should be made to feel coerced or shamed for the amount they give. It should never be an obligation or a source of guilt. What was meant to be a fun, memorable outing ended with a sense of discomfort and frustration because of her attitude. We felt disrespected and disappointed, and honestly, it overshadowed what should have been a great experience. Her professionalism, or lack thereof, was very upsetting, and I would caution anyone considering this tour to be aware of how tipping is handled. Overall, this experience left us feeling let down and uncomfortable, which is the last thing anyone wants from a guided tour. We expected enthusiasm, support, and respect, but instead, we were met with pressure and guilt. Truly unfortunate.

A fantastic trip for teens
What a fantastic way to see LA! We often book a bike tour when we visit a city for the first time. We booked the Beverly Hills tour which was perfect for our teens. Luc was a perfect tour guide. Very informative and so kind, he tailored the trip to us as it was just the 4 of us booked onto the trip. The tour included mansions, palm tree lined streets, homes of stars both current and past, Rodeo Drive and other notable points including the ‘pink wall’ which delighted the kids. Luc took a photo of us there which is my favourite photo of our whole trip! I loved the amount of cycle lanes we used and quiet streets. I felt very safe and Luc’s hand signals were really clear for when to stop, turn etc. All in all a 10/10 experience.

Excellent way to explore LA
We had a brilliant tour with Ben. We are a family of 4 (2 teens 17, 14). We were lucky that no one else booked the same time so we ended up with a private tour. We had e-bikes and you can choose the level of additional power depending on how hard you want to work! The extra power was great for the hills around Beverley Hills and Bel Air. It was a great way to explore different neighbourhoods and learn about the history of LA. Ben was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and friendly and he took great care to make sure we were safe riding on the roads with lots of instruction. We hadn’t planned anything for the evening so visited Hollywood walk of fame after, anything more might have been a stretch as the tour was tiring! I would highly recommend.

My tour guide was Noelle and very much enjoyed it!! It was on my bucket list to hike up the Cali mountains and meditate--done!! Made sure I was happy and A+!!

Très bonne visite avec Mark
Très belle visite. Mark, notre guide était très bien et lorsque nous lui avons indiqué que nous étions français et que nous ne parlions pas très bien anglais il a pris la peine de nous donner un magnétophone avec tous ses commentaires en français. On a donc pu pleinement profiter de la visite. Mark a aussi pris le temps de prendre les photos nous faisant prendre les poses ! Nous recommandons cette activité avec Mark.

Great hike with Mark
We went on an amazing hike with Mark and had a great time. Not only did we get to enjoy the beautiful scenery, Mark also shared interesting historical and geographical facts about the area. He did a wonderful job taking care of the group and making sure we had enough stops and everyone felt included. We would definitely recommend this hike to others. Mark is a great guide, photographer and we really enjoyed our time with him.
