Mark was our guide and he was awesome. Very knowledgeable and personable. Great experience. Would not want to do this the 1st time without a guide as you might think you were trespassing in a couple spots when you were not!

Our tour with Mark this afternoon was nothing short of amazing. His knowledge of the area and its history is unparalleled, and the views were simply incredible. This is an absolute must-do if you are visiting LA. Definitely aim for the longer route if you can - the views from the top of the mountain are worth every step!

An Emergency Cancellation, Flexible Hike Re-Selection, Overall Fantastic Hike!

This hiking experience occurred on May 21st, 2025. First off, I want to emphasize that this hike was cancelled due to an emergency. However, I was given the opportunity to pick another hike to go on, and Bikes and Hikes were incredibly flexible. Outreach in letting me know of the cancellation was greatly appreciated and fast! I ended up going on the shorter Hollywood sign hike just to the front of the sign. Secondly, I want to give a huge shout out to Michael, who was my hike guide. I was the only one who showed up for the 9am session, and he was an absolute delight to hike with. I learned about the general history of the Hollywood sign, the story of Griffith J. Griffith and the park itself, and we also chatted about life in general. It was very much an enjoyable hike and solo experience. He was more than willing to take a lot of pictures, and I really appreciated that! I hope that in the future I will have another chance at taking the longer hike, once again I would like to thank Bikes and Hikes LA Tours for their fast communication and wonderful customer service in ensuring that I had a positive hike in the Hollywood Hills regardless of the emergency cancellation!

Hike with views and stories

It was an awesome hike! At first we were a bit afraid of the gloomy weather, but as soon as we arrived to the top, the fog started lifting granting us an amazing view. Our guide’s, Mark’s stories about the sign and about the melodrama surrounding the Griffith Park made the whole experience memorable though. He was really helpful and attentive during the whole hike. We went together with my family and I believe this will be one of the highlights of our trip. I really recommend it to anyone who likes hike and great stories!
