Great activity for locals and tourists - be prepared for sun and climbing
Great hike with a local tour guide! Learned about some LA history, saw the Hollywood sign (not as close as some other tours but this hike covers more ground) and ended at the Griffith Observatory which is free to enter (planetarium shows are extra). Caution- it is quite the hike up, steep in some parts and about 45 minutes of just climbing up to the top. Also since it leaves at 10 am, it is very hot and dry in the summer. Our guide brought extra sunscreen and water bottles but be prepared yourself as you will be baking in the sun for 3 hours. Bring two bottles of water. Not for those who cannot handle climbing and heights.

I did this tour in June, just a few days after arriving in LA. As a keen cyclist, I love seeing new places by bike, and this one covered so many iconic LA spots — West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Culver City, and more. I was the only rider on the tour (even though I hadn’t booked a private!), but my guide Jon still delivered an outstanding experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient — especially appreciated since I was a bit dusty from a big day in the Malibu wine region the day before! I opted for a regular bike and was glad to sweat it out, but I can see why e-bikes are so popular with other riders — definitely a great option for different fitness levels. We had a delicious lunch stop on Venice Beach, and the whole day felt relaxed, scenic, and fun. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or just looking for a different way to see LA, this tour has something for everyone.

Micheal was an amazing tour guide, giving us lots of interesting stories and new information about hollywood, griffith park and the areas around it. This hike was amazing! Our tour guide, Katie, was awesome and was able to teach us all so much about the history of Griffith Park, Griffith Observatory, and even the Hollywood sign! It was definitely an experience that I’m glad I took part in and would highly recommend!

Awesome way to spend an afternoon!
I booked a hike with Mark through my hotel and he was awesome! You could tell he had thoroughly researched the area and the history of the Hollywood(land) sign and Griffith Park as a whole. He also brought extra snacks for everyone and was a great photographer. I’d definitely recommend the hike if you’re visiting LA!
