Hands down this was our best experience in Tokyo! It was amazing to explore Norma’s local area. She’s an excellent guide. We had a fantastic meal and the sake tasting. We highly recommend these tours.

Had a great time on the Golden Gai food tour in Shinjuku with our guide JJ. He’s personable and very knowledgeable in Japan’s food culture. The spots he picked were delicious, felt very local, and gave us a taste of the many varieties of cuisine in Shinjuku. Beyond that, JJ is filled with interesting facts and street smart tips on living life in Tokyo. I would recommend taking this food tour if you’re in Shinjuku!

We where toured around Asakusa by a wonderful lady called Michie. She showed us some amazing local gems. She was extremely positive and went above and beyond to give us an amazing experience. It was more than just a food tour it was a insight to Tokyo life led by a local. Our tour was superb and greatly exceeded our expectations.

We flew in from Australia and met Ema almost straight from the Skyliner train. I’d been starting to feel sleepy but this was the perfect wake-up activity. The meet-up at Ueno Park was effortless and Ema is knowledgeable and fun. We dived straight into the amazing food and shopping experience under the train arches between Ueno and Okachimachi stations, a black market in decades past, and now an explosion of sound, colour, smells and flavours. Wandering from shop to shop Ema introduced us to all manner of sweet and savoury Japanese snacks, and we even explored a local supermarket. Ema filled the experience with both local history and personal experience, really helping bring it all to life. It was so much fun that after the tour ended, we headed straight back in to find an isakaya. Highly recommended.

We loved our food tour with our guide Lauren. She was excellent, showing us many great and interesting spots, especially when it came to amazing traditional food. She offered us many useful insights on Japanese society and how she lived and experienced it, explaining things that we would not have been able to understand without an insider point of view. She also brought us to a local geisha neighbourhood, and she gave us a detailed and interesting history of the Geishas. The restaurants she brought us to made excellent food, whether it be the ramen restaurant or the sweet treats that came before. I would really recommend Arigato Travels and in particular Lauren.

We had an absolutely fabulous time with Norma. From sake tasting and education to special cocktail locations as well as "bar food". Norma knows the best places not only for drinking and eating but general knowledge about Tokyo as well as specialty shopping. Spending the evening with Norma was more like hanging out with an old friend as opposed to walking around town with a tour guide. She truly made our evening different and special.

We enjoyed an absolutely fantastic whiskey, sake and cocktail tour with Kevin on October 17. He took us to some unique places, taught us a lot about the whiskey and sake industries in Japan and was an absolute delight to spend time with. Definitely an enjoyable evening in Kyoto.

There were 4 of us who did a food tour in Osaka with Micky and she was wonderful. She took us to fabulous places to eat, ensured we had a chance to try a wide array of different foods and drinks, and explained the history of the area while we were at it. We're visiting Japan on our honeymoon and we decided we wanted a food tour. We were lucky to get Akiko. She did a great job of explaining the history of Osaka and how they developed their food culture. We really enjoyed all the restaurants she took us too as well. Everything was delicious.

Outstanding food tour around Ginza area of Tokyo. Ully was a friendly knowledgeable guide who definitely was the reason the evening was so enjoyable. We learned a lot about local foods and especially enjoyed the izakaya experience featuring food from Okinawa. Highly recommend.

There were many culinary highlights during the three-hour tour. Kurt had anecdotes to share about each stop, making it incredibly entertaining. We wholeheartedly recommend the tour and Kurt's guidance. I truly feel sorry for the four people who abruptly ended the tour. Nach langem Überlegen haben wir doch an der Tour teilgenommen. Es waren noch zwei weitere Paar der Tour beteiligt. Diese haben jedoch an der 2. Etappe einen Rückzieher gemacht. Zum Vorteil von uns. Unser Guide Kurt konnte sich dann komplett um uns kümmern. Es gab schöne Gespräche mit vielen Informationen, die ein Touri nicht im Reiseführer finden kann. Wir waren in Restaurants, die wir nie auf dem Schirm hatten. Es gab viele kulinarische Highlights innerhalb der 3 h. Zu jedem Stop konnte Kurt Anekdoten erzählen und es war extrem kurzweilig. Wir können die Tour und die Führung von Kurt ohne Einschränkung weiter empfehlen. Die vier Personen, welche sie Tour abrupt abgebrochen haben, tun mir echt leid. Ihnen ist wirklich was spezielles entgangen….
