A fantastic day trip from Toulouse

We loved our full day trip from Toulouse! Amélie was a fantastic tour guide whose knowledge of the region and its history shone through. We learned a lot and took in amazing scenery and city scapes. The last stop at Chateau de Mayragues was a great opportunity to sample wines from the region. I'd happily go on another tour like this the next time I'm France.

overpriced but nice morning

Good communication (if not overdone), prompt pick-up, comfortable coach, Benoit was lovely and gave the right amount of info/history for me, and the villages were all very cool. The boat ride was ok -- the guide spoke in French and us English speakers could wear headphones though you really couldn't hear because of the guide speaking so I zoned out on the French. This was the only excursion I could find to the villages without going with a private tour -- for me, it is overpriced. (I've done day long tours w/ food/drink and more time to explore for the same price.) In retrospect, I should've planned for taxis and walked between two of the villages so I would have time to explore, canoe with no guide, and stop in a shop or two.

Maggie, our tour guide, was formidable both in her knowledge and conviviality. There was not a dull moment on the tour, the pace was just right, and conversation flowed easily. She complemented the ordinary history curriculum with an arsenal of little known details and fully realized narratives on the human cost of war. We saw history come to life. Much gratitude to Maggie for an unforgettable excursion.

Great experience

We had Stanislas as our guide on this great little trip from Bordeaux to St Emilion. E had a short tour of the town when Stream told us about the church and the history of the town. E had some time to look around the town by ourselves and buy a few souvenirs too. Then we visited a small winery where Stream showed us the vines, the vats and barrels, describing the wine making process and how the wine makers create the complex flavours and scents of the wines. Finally we did a tasting in a lovely room seated around a lading wooden table overlooking the vineyards and landscape of St Emilion. What a great experience! The mini bus we used was comfortable and air conditioned.

Excellent Tour

Our guide, Maggie, was fantastic. Friendly, charismatic, and very thorough at each site. If you are short on time but want to get a glimpse into the WW2 sites, I highly recommend the 1/2 day. Bonus is the town of Bayeux - Make time to shop, eat, drink before departing.

Must-Do Tour!

Our guide MATT was beyond fantastic! His in-depth knowledge and high-energy delivery brought the D-Day experience to life - including some details that were brand new to these WWII fans! Our 20 yr-old grandson said this tour was the highlight of his first trip to France! His only complaint? He wished he took the ALL-DAY tour instead. 😉 The American Cemetery visit was especially moving as we witnessed the military flag removal at end of day - the quiet reverence amongst hundreds of visitors was soul stirring. To all considering a tour, don’t delay! Just book this one ASAP - you’ll be glad you did. 😊

U.S. D-Day Sites Half-Day Tour From Bayeux

Our family of four joined the afternoon tour last Thursday, June 12th. Our tour guide Pascal was amazing. He was very knowledgeable, engaging, and great at story telling. He brought photos, pictures, and key WW2 speech scripts to the tour to show us. Even my two teenagers were impressed by Pascal. We first visited Pointe Du Hoc, American Cemetery, and Omaha Beach. The sequence was intended for us to observe the American Flag lowering ceremony at 4 pm. It was moving to watch. This tour was the best tour we had during our one-week Europe trip.

Time Well Spent

An efficient use of time, a knowledgeable and informative guide (Mathis) who did not talk too much as some do, lovely scenery and a good mix of vioneyards and town.

Must Do

This was one of the best tours I have ever taken. We saw breathtaking views, lovely villages and a very interesting castle. Our guide was wonderful and knowledgeable. The trip enabled us to see places it would have been difficult to get to on our own.

Great day out very interesting and also very moving , our guide Matt was very knowledgeable and really brought the sites to life ,even supplying umbrellas when it rained, would thoroughly recommend it

Great side trip from Strasbourg

Our guide was Jerome who had great knowledge about Alsace wines and history. Tour was 4 hours with two wineries and 10 wines, which was plenty. While Strasbourg is a great place it is packed with tourists so this trip was a great half-day opportunity to see the countryside and small towns.

Buy Separate Wine Tour If You Like Wine

Our guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and a nice person. However, the tour seemed rushed. She returned us to the meeting point at 4:30 instead of 5 pm. I think the tour in Albi could be shortened, add 30 minutes to Cordes and 30 minutes to wine tour. The wine stop was the shortest we’ve experienced on a Viator tour. The owner said he would normally give us a taste from the barrels and do more but our guide wouldn’t allow it as she was on a tight schedule. That was a disappointment. Albi and Cordes were nice but vineyard in Gaillac could be better by adding more time and light pairing with wines. For $300 for two, should have been better.

We really enjoyed this...

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Thiery, was funny, very entertaining and knowledgeable. We wished we had a little more time to explore Riquewihr. We highly recommend this tour.
