Amazing UTV tour!!

My husband and I did the horseback tour at Kualoa Ranch during our trip to Hawaii in December 2024. When we arrived, the process to get to the stables was easy and our horses looked well cared for. The tour itself was breathtaking and we really enjoyed our guide who was informative about the ranch and also provided suggestions for local places to visit once the tour had concluded. The ride was around 2 hours long, so be prepared for a little soreness if you aren't accustomed to horseback riding. During the tour, you explore different areas of the ranch and have sceneic views of the ocean and ranch throughout. At one point, the trail opens up to the valley which was truly an amazing moment. Each saddle has a mini-speaker attached so you can always hear what your guide is saying which was great. While the horse is walking the entire time, you do go up and down some hills which offered some excitement when compared to a traditional, "flat" trial ride. We had a blast on our tour, have memories and pictures to last a lifetime, and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kualoa!

Overall the tour was underwhelming. I wouldn’t even say that it is necessarily raw but actually more barebones of what the sets and film scenes looked like from the movies. Often at each of scenes was one or two attractions but stripped right down to the very shell of what it’s supposed to be. Little or no signage of what was filmed there, no reference photos, and no or minimal dinosaurs. A lot of the objects/items in the scenes were actually worn down, and you could tell they were not trying to preserve them. I understand letting the land reclaim and leaving it natural, but it seems as through there is no effort to build any enthusiasm to the attractions. The catch is that if you want to see more, you have to pay more and do multiple of the other routes to get the full experience, even though we were on the “Jurassic Adventure” tour. Disappointing. Lots of photos I’ve seen in other reviews we did not get to experience on our tour. Maybe I was expecting too much, but when 70% of the tour is driving through trails with no dinosaurs, structures, or sound effects or anything along the way it’s a snooze fest. (When the guide tells you it’s okay to take a nap and he won’t be offended, that should not be overlooked). Absolutely beautiful landscape, but if you’re looking to be transported to the world of dinosaurs or even film making, this is not the place.

We did the ATV drive yourself tour and let me tell you, it was a highlight of our trip. The ranch is absolutely stunning and the guides are so nice, informative and expert photo takers. They took some of the best pics my partner and I have together in years. Huge plus if you are a Jurassic Park fan, but regardless these will be some of the most stunning views you've ever seen. I will 100% be back next time for the same your and maybe ziplining too!

An amazing experience! We did the UTV tour, and our tour guide, Daniel, was very professional. Driving around the entire ranch in the vehicle was such a great experience. It’s quite dusty, but they provide goggles and face masks for the tour. The only downside is that the UTV tour has three stops—while the first and third stops were fantastic, the second stop was boring and lacked interesting sights, as there are so many beautiful spots in the ranch to explore.

Did the UTV ride. It was AWESOME. They provide goggles, helmet and face mask. Everything is clean and sanitary. The ride was informative as well as a blast. We saw several movie sites and learned a lot about the Hawaiian culture and the land. It’s a must see!!!
