Itinerary
Pass by: Prepare yourself for a truly unique journey where rich history and breathtaking natural landscapes combine to create an unforgettable experience. Sit back and relax aboard your comfortable, fully equipped luxury coach as we set off toward the world-famous Cinque Terre.
Your journey from Florence to the Cinque Terre starts by coach, where you can relax as your guide shares stories about the area. You'll hear tales about the Tuscan city of Lucca and its famous resident Puccini and see the Carrara marble quarries from the distance before learning about the Cinque Terre and its five fishing villages—Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Monterosso and Riomaggiore—that form the national park. Once you arrive in La Spezia, your expert tour leader will be there to guide you through the next part of your journey. Following their helpful instructions and insights, you’ll make your way to board the train and continue your adventure.
Arriving by train, you’ll explore the beautiful village of Manarola, one of the most iconic towns of the Cinque Terre. With its colorful houses perched above the sea, narrow lanes, and charming piazza overlooking the water, Manarola offers a truly unforgettable setting. Take time to wander through the village, enjoy the views of the Ligurian coastline, and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of this historic fishing community. For those who wish, there is also an optional walk led by your tour leader that climbs above the village to reach spectacular panoramic viewpoints. Along the way, you’ll pass through the terraced vineyards that define the Cinque Terre landscape while enjoying breathtaking views of the coastline and the sparkling sea below.
Your journey continues to Corniglia, the only village of the Cinque Terre perched high above the sea. Unlike the other towns, Corniglia sits on a rocky promontory surrounded by terraced vineyards, offering breathtaking views over the coastline and the sparkling Ligurian Sea. With its quiet charm, colorful houses, and narrow lanes, it feels like a peaceful retreat away from the crowds. Take time to wander through the small streets, admire the scenic viewpoints, and experience the authentic atmosphere of this unique village. You will also have free time to enjoy lunch, giving you the opportunity to relax at a local restaurant or café and savor the flavors of Ligurian cuisine before continuing your adventure.
After lunch comes the real adventure: a hike of approximately two miles along the medieval mule trails that skirt the cliffs and connect the hilltop towns of the Cinque Terre (if you choose the tour option without hiking, the train will be used instead to move between villages). You will leave the trail when you reach the village of Vernazza, one of the prettiest and most characteristic areas you will see on the Cinque Terre tour. Here you will have some free time to sit in one of the cheerful bars and cafés or even have a cooling swim in the sea – it’s the perfect time to get refreshed and prepare for the next part of the tour.
After departing Vernazza, the group will take a short train ride to Monterosso, a village renowned for its beautiful beach and artisan shops. Here you will have the option to relax on the golden sands, browse the shops for souvenirs or even sample some local wine.
Depending on the weather conditions the next part of the experience is an optional boat ride along the coast to Riomaggiore (subject to weather and same-day confirmation + payment), that can be reached otherwise by train. Riomaggiore is the southernmost town of the Cinque Terre and one of its most picturesque. Colorful houses cascade down the steep hillside toward the small harbor, creating the iconic scene that has made this village famous around the world.
For guests who have chosen the Pisa option, the journey concludes with a visit to this historic Tuscan city, famous around the world for its remarkable architectural treasures. Upon arrival, you will head to the spectacular Piazza dei Miracoli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to some of Italy’s most celebrated monuments. Here you’ll have time to admire the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, the magnificent Cathedral, and the impressive Baptistery, all set within the beautiful green lawns of the square. Take the opportunity to capture memorable photos of the famous tower and soak in the unique atmosphere of this historic city. This visit to Pisa marks the final stop of the tour for those who have selected the Pisa option, offering a perfect ending to a day filled with unforgettable sights and experiences.
After a day filled with unforgettable sights, it’s time to relax and begin the comfortable journey back to Florence. Sit back aboard your coach and enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful Tuscan and Ligurian landscapes as you reflect on the charming villages, breathtaking coastal views, and memorable moments of the day. You will arrive back in Florence in the evening, bringing your Cinque Terre adventure to a pleasant and relaxing conclusion.

Traveler reviews
Outstanding tour guides and very memorable experience
Gianluca and JoJo were amazing guides. They were very professional and more importantly very pleasant and calm and smiling all day. That makes everyone feel very comfortable and relaxed. Luca and Jojo were always available to answer questions and made ensure the entire tour group were safe and enjoying the tours. It was great hearing the history of many of the sites visited. We couldn’t have asked for better tour guides. My family of five and my sisters family of four thoroughly enjoyed the day! Huge THANK YOU to both Luca and Jojo. They helped make this tour a very positive experience and memorable.

JoJo and Claudia were amazing guides! We took the hiking option, and even though it was hot, the views and the experience of walking between the villages was amazing! One of our favorite experiences in our travels to Italy -- I've already recommended it to friends!

Joanne (Jo) did a great job leading our group of 20 on a full day of hiking and sightseeing at Cinque Terre and Pisa. She quickly learned all of our names and continuously approached us on the bus and during events to offer help. She was very knowledgeable. Also, she pointed out pick pockets girls working at the Leaning Tower of Pisa enterance. I highly reocmmend this trip because of the amazing experience and Jo enhancing it.
Great guides made for amazing trip
Our trip included visits to all 5 towns. Our guides were so well organized and communicated very well making our visit stress free. I’m still amazed at how much we got to see and never felt rushed. I really appreciated how the guides communicated options and important points for each location.
