Epic choquequirao trek
My wife and I had a fantastic trek to choquequirao via Trexperience. The company thought of everything to help make our trip unforgettable, starting with an excellent guide - David. He was so kind and knowledgeable; he really made all the difference to add important details of history, nature, and culture, as well as to keep us moving. Beto and Erika were our chefs and made us fantastic 5 course meals in completely remote places, I was truly awe struck at their ability to put together such delicious food. What is even better, my wife and I usually take a food tour at every place we visit, but now we don’t have to because we sampled so much of classic Peruvian quinine along our remote and rugged trek. I really can’t say enough how amazed I was by this team, they work so hard and are all excellent! The trek of Choquequirao was magnificent. We are fit and avid hikers, which definitely helped us because this was probably the toughest hiking we’ve done. If you don’t fancy yourself to be in good shape, the 5 day option might be a better fit. The ruins are great but the combination with nature and remoteness brings an indescribable charm. I’d implore you to stay at Marampatta village during your trek because the setting is just amazing. My wife and I do happy with our choice to do this trek and I’m sure you will be as well. Many thanks to David, Beto, and Erika!!
An Unforgettable Trek — Outstanding Crew from Start to Finish
The Choquequirao trek was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life, and our crew made it absolutely exceptional. Every single person on this team showed up with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine love for what they do. Elias (Guide) — At one point, Elias literally got kicked by a horse and didn’t miss a beat. Kept smiling, kept leading, never complained. That tells you everything about the kind of person he is. He was also a fantastic photographer and made sure we captured moments we’ll treasure forever. Bacilio (Cook) — I honestly don’t know how he did it, but Bacilio turned a remote mountain trail into a gourmet dining experience. Every meal was a feast — flavorful, hearty, and made with care. On top of that, he’s an absolute beast on the trail. A true legend. Abel (Helper) — Abel was a trooper through and through. Always friendly, always one step ahead, and never once did he make you feel like any request was too much. His positive energy was contagious throughout the entire trek. Ruben (Horseman) — This man climbed a mountain in sandals. Not hiking boots — sandals. The kind of quiet, understated strength that leaves you speechless. Incredibly kind and reliable every step of the way. If you’re considering the Choquequirao trek, do it — and make sure you’re lucky enough to get this crew. They made a hard trail feel like an adventure worth every step.
Trek of a lifetime
We had a once in a lifetime experience on this trek to Choquequirao. Sebastian, Oscar, Joseph and Siran really made this experience unforgettable. The food was delicious and really varied, and we learned so much about Inca’s traditions. Choquequirao is also a fantastic place to visit. It is a challenging trek but it is so much worth it. We spend 5h exploring the ruins of the twin’s sister of Machu Pichu and we barely saw anyone there or on the road. I would highly recommend this trek if you’re in search of an adventure, want to explore some Inca ruins 2 times bigger than Machu Picchu, and want a knowledgeable and attentive team.
Unforgettable trip
We had a fantastic experience with Sebastian, Oscar, Joseph and Siran and would 100% reccommend the trip! The views were spectacular and there was plenty of time to explore Choquequirao. The hike is tough but the team kept us safe, made us feel very welcome and prepared delicious food. Sebastian was very knowledgeable about everything from the flora and fauna to Inca history and current local culture so it was valuable to learn a lot from him. I would definitely love to do another trip with the company!
From Overwhelmed to Amazed—TreXperience Delivered!
I had the opportunity to travel to Lima this past March for a business conference, and since I was already in Peru, I knew I couldn’t miss the chance to visit Machu Picchu—especially since I’m not sure when I’ll have the opportunity to return. While researching tour options online, I quickly became overwhelmed by the number of companies and itineraries available. It was difficult to determine which experience would be the best fit. That’s when I came across TreXperience, and I’m so glad I did. They offered a variety of well-structured tours, and I ultimately chose the 4-day/3-night package. From the very beginning, my experience was excellent. My initial contact, Jazmin, was incredibly helpful—responsive, knowledgeable, and patient in answering all of my questions both before and during the trip. The guides—Roger, Monica, and Royer—were outstanding. Each of them was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. They were always punctual for pickups and made every transition—whether from hotel, train, or other transportation—seamless and stress-free. What could have been a complicated and overwhelming travel experience turned into a smooth, enjoyable, and truly memorable journey. TreXperience did an exceptional job organizing every detail. I would highly recommend this company to anyone planning a trip to Machu Picchu. They made the entire experience easy, enjoyable, and unforgettable.
