Itinerary

Pick you up from the hotel at 5:00 am and travel 3 hours to the trailhead. Upon arrival, our chef will prepare a delicious breakfast with plentiful choices while you enjoy the scenery with a nice cup of coffee or coca tea. After breakfast, we'll climb Vinicunca for 2 hours (Also known as Rainbow Mountain). You can witness hundreds of llamas and alpacas and hike around the Ausangate Mountain range, Cusco's highest mountains. The hike is mostly plain with a gradual steep incline at the end, and you'll need a warm jacket, caps, gloves, and a camera to record the great vistas. At Rainbow Mountain, your guide will describe how the painted hills, Andes, and this mountain formed. After admiring the Peruvian Andes and the 360-degree view from Vinicunca, we'll take a 30-minute hike to Red Valley, a rarely-visited region with amazing views. Next, we'll return to the trailhead, where lunch awaits. Our chef uses local ingredients to prepare buffet meals. Return to Cusco around 5:30 pm.

Unreal beauty and a wonderful day!

What an out of this world experience! Started at 4.30am from Cusco. Our guide Elias made it great fun and very informative. Stopped for breakfast and our chefs Esteban y Jheymi outdid themselves with a hot cooked breakfast in the wilderness. The hike up over 5000 m above sea level was challenging but I got a ride on a pony, Poderosa, for some of the trek. I was blown away by the view of the colourful mountain Vinicunca from the top, with snow capped Ausangate behind us….but my favourite was the Red Valley. Just wow❤️ On the trip home we had a delicious hot lunch again cooked by our superchefs, before the drive back to Cusco. If you are going to do this trip, you can only go with TreXperience 😍😍

Beautiful Scenery with Fantastic Cuisine

My wife and I spent a marvelous day with our guide Royer. The scenery was fantastic, of course, but Royer’s company was equally fantastic. He is knowledgeable, friendly and a great conversationalist. Our breakfast and lunch prepared by Leandro were excellent. The food was fresh, cooked just right and it added a great deal to the day being able to enjoy Peruvian cuisine. It was an excellent day in all respects.

Perfect and unique trip with great food included

We were picked up by a whole team: driver Jaime, the cooking team Braulio and Esteban and our guide Elias. Thanks to them we had a perfect and unique experience on this tour! We were completely pampered with breakfast before the hike started and after the hike we also got a delicious lunch. Elias also guided us very well during the hike and supported us where this was needed. I would definitely book a trip here again!

Rainbow Mountain Can’t Miss

David with TreXperience was an exceptional guide for what turned out to be one of the most memorable days of our entire trip. He took us beyond just Rainbow Mountain itself — including Red Valley and an additional peak with an alternate descent route that offered some of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen. What made David truly stand out was how attentive he was to our wellbeing throughout. At nearly 17,000 feet, altitude is no joke, and he checked in consistently to make sure we felt good and let us set our own pace without any pressure. He also came prepared with coca leaves, a traditional and remarkably effective remedy for the altitude effects that can otherwise derail the experience. David strikes the perfect balance between pushing you toward something extraordinary and making sure you actually enjoy the journey getting there. An absolute gem of a guide — don’t do Rainbow Mountain without him.

A Day to Remember

Our Trexperience Team was outstanding! Each one of them did their part professionally and with immense detail and skill. Brauli the chef , with his sous chef Estevan made us the most amazing Peruvian feast for breakfast and lunch. The entire team worked together to create what was truly an outstanding experience. The table setting and placement in the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. The food was as offered at any four star restaurant. It was delicious and displayed beautifully. Amilcar the driver was efficient and excellent on those very narrow roads. In addition he offered us assistance without us having to ask. Charged our phones, gave us toilet paper when we stopped at restrooms in the event that they wouldn’t have any.. just a very accommodating individual. The icing on our experience along with all the aforementioned was our Guide David, he was professional, knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. He carried our water , our snacks. He would remind us to breathe, drink water and rest. He was so enthusiastic and happy to be with us. He motivated us to really take in the experience. We are forever grateful to each of these individuals. I would recommend this experience wholeheartedly.
