Save your money or find another show!
Really, this is NOT what I expected at Broadway! Find another show! The staff: From we arrive they were shouting like we were cows, hurry up, find your seat and so on.. In the break a lady was screaming hurry up at the toilet which was quing. The show: On stage it was the small orchestra and the dancers. Not a scenography, not any changes of costumes during the whole show, the dancers where black, and that’s it. I seems lik The dancers and singers all worked on a low budget. I have seen most of the musicals in London and some in Oslo (my hometown). They are all better, much better than this. One advice! Save your money until you visit London or find another show and do a research. Honestly and sadly this was not what we expected on Broadway.
Phenomenal
This was a great show, the theatre was amazing & the cast did a phenomenal job! The actress who played Roxie did great!
Spectacle
A spectacle for adults, without major change of setting, focused on delivering the story and great performances. My favorite piece, delivering what is the glamour of Broadway.
Underwhelming
Context: we live and London and have watched many shows over there they were spectacular in songs, dancing, costumes, lights, effects and orchestra. Then, full of excitement, we booked tickets for this show in Broadway last night. First , the theatre is worse than a church theatre. A school assembly arena is better equipped, with larger seats. But that could have been ok if the shows was ….a show worthy of the expectation. No lighting effect, no costumes (same across entire duration), embarrassing sense of humor of the script … orchestra was good and it was truly the only reason we endured until break. At break, we left. Don’t waist money!
Highly recommend
Lovely, old fashioned playhouse small but intimate. Great seats after box office lady felt sorry for our booked through Trip Advisor ones. Probably all seats have a good view though. Love the songs in Chigago and the cast and band did justice to them. Choreography excellent as was the energy. Velma Kelly ( Bianca Marroquin) was outstanding. Loved Amos and Billy Flynn too (Raymond Bokhour and Tam Mutu. Free programme but heard drinks were very expensive. Great night out
