Traveler reviews
It was good
Visually appealing- a little lost at times with catching all the words and thus, following the story. Loved the style of music- but overall I wasn’t wow’ed by it- though I’d consider it good.
Must see
Incredible show and amazing cast. Just incredible, including the set design which was gorgeous. Prepare to feel all the feels.
Hadestown on Broadway and Museum
Saw Hadestown at Walter Kerr Theatre. Great experience. My daughter was over the moon. Beautiful theater. Went to Broadway Museum that afternoon. Enjoyed seeing the memorabilia and back stage stuff.
Amazing show!!
As a theatre nerd when we booked a holiday to New York of course we were going to Broadway. After carefully looking at all the shows we booked one we had never seen before called Hadestown. We arrived at the theatre (why are American and British theatres so different?!) and got in our seats straight away. We had a great view despite our seats being moderately high up and cheap. The show started and it was so good and we all enjoyed it! The characters were really well cast, with Orpheus being played by Jordan Fisher (John Ambrose in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before PS I Still Love You) and all of the other cast members being outstanding. By the end we were exhausted and enjoyed ourselves so much!! Definite recommendation!!
A trip to Hadestown
This is a very good musical: an adaptation of a mythological story interpreted in quite an original way and dealing with modern issues and human struggles. Beautiful music, lighting and creative use of the stage with moving platforms. Wonderful cast!
