Discover centuries of history with breathtaking views of the landscape, including the well-known Coronation Stone and An Forradh monument. Experience this 5,000-year-old Boyne Valley gem firsthand.
A drive across the Irish countryside wouldn't be the same without passing through verdant, scenic areas. We go to the town of Trim, which is home to a striking and well-preserved Anglo-Norman castle, through stunning scenery. Ireland's largest castle of its kind is Trim Castle. You will have opportunity to stroll about the expansive grounds and castle (the ticket inside the castle it's not included). This is a great chance to take a picture. You will learn about the background of this intriguing castle and the neighbourhood from your guide.
After that, we go to Loughcrew, the location of Neolithic passage tombs with complete rock art covering the inside walls that date back more than 5,000 years. After our visit, we will have lunch at a nearby restaurant, where the tastes enhance the area's rich history and add even more value to our experience.

Finally, visit Fore Abbey, the site of Saint Fechin's founding of a Christian monastery in the seventh century, lastly. Before it was destroyed twelve times, the settlement was home to 300 monks at its height. Explore the ruins, which include Saint Fechin's Church, which dates back to approximately 900 AD.

Traveler reviews
Great guide,some difficult walking paths.
This was a wonderful tour, however, it should be noted that there is a good amount of walking and hiking. And that some of the inclines are exceptionally steep and maybe difficult for people who are older or have mobility issues. Our guide was amazing and very friendly!
We had a wonderful time...
We had a wonderful time on the Celtic Boyne Valley and Ancient Sites Day Tour from Dublin. The itinerary was well organized, and each stop was fascinating, offering a great opportunity to learn about Ireland's ancient history, archaeology, and beautiful countryside. The pace was comfortable, with enough time to explore and take photos without feeling rushed. Our guide, Alec, was excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. He shared interesting stories and historical background throughout the day, making each site even more meaningful. He was well organized, kept the tour running smoothly, and was happy to answer questions along the way.
The tour completely matched the description, brilliant guide and great experiences. Nothing to complain about, well-organized trip!

Good, understandable guide and especially a very varied programma
Great tour!
The tour was great! The driver, Alec, pointed out sites and points of interest as driving. The loughcrew cairn was a very steep climb, everything else was easy. Plan on walking a lot.
