Meet Your Canadian D-Day Expert Guide

Meet your English-speaking driver‑guide in Bayeux, a local expert on Canadian D-Day history, who will outline your full-day program before you board a premium, air‑conditioned Mercedes minivan. With a PA system so everyone hears the commentary clearly, free Wi‑Fi and bottled water on board, you travel in comfort between each key site of the Canadian sector.

Juno Beach & Canadian D-Day Museum

Begin at Juno Beach, where the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division and 9th Brigade landed on 6 June 1944, facing mines, obstacles and heavy fire that caused severe casualties. Walk the beach and visit the Juno Beach Centre, the striking maple‑leaf‑shaped museum dedicated to Canada’s role in the D‑Day landings and the Battle of Normandy, as your guide explains how Canadian troops advanced further inland than any other Allied force that first day.

Bény-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery

Continue to the beautifully maintained Canadian War Cemetery at Bény‑sur‑Mer, final resting place of many soldiers who fell on D‑Day and in the early battles towards Caen. Among over 2,000 graves, you have time to walk the rows, reflect, and hear the stories behind some of the men commemorated here, including those linked to the Ardenne Abbey massacre.

Ardenne Abbey & Hill 67 on Verrières Ridge

Your tour then explores deeper chapters of Canadian sacrifice at the Ardenne Abbey, where captured Canadian soldiers were executed by Waffen‑SS troops, and on Verrières Ridge at Hill 67, scene of some of the costliest fighting for Canadian units, including the Black Watch. Standing at these memorials, your guide helps you understand why this ground remains central to Canadian military history before you return to Bayeux.

We had a very fun day with Matt to Mont Saint-Mitchel. Matt is an excellent tour guide & he cared for his clients very much. He's an on time person. We learned a lot about the history of Saint-Mitchel via Matt. He made sure we have enough time browsing this beautiful UNESCO. We definitely recommend friends & family this tour. Thank you Matt

Pascal was, above all, a smiling whirlwind of energy from the very start — bursting with knowledge, passion, and just the right amount of dramatic flair. He painted the horror of the Omaha Beach invasion so vividly that we could practically hear the chaos, then marched us through the bunkers at Pointe du Hoc like we were on a mission ourselves. And before we even caught our breath, he had already catapulted us back to Bayeux at invasion speed. A legend in tour‑guide form. Thanks from Croatian Team😉

Our Normandy D-Day tour was well worth it and we so enjoyed our tour guide Matt. He made the tour engaging, entertaining and informative. The tour was just the right size and a half day was perfect for us. It would have been much harder to get around to the sites and understand each without the information that Matt was constantly sharing. There was hardly a time that Matt was not telling us what/how/when of what we were looking at. Thanks Matt!
