Depending on where you are staying, our driver will pick you up and you will head to this magical small town considered one of the most beautiful small towns in Colombia.
You will head to the start of the path and during 5.5 kms we’ll walk with you at your own pace. Our guide will be telling you about some of the history of this trail, as well as stories of the region, its costumes and traditions and why this Camino Real was so important decades ago, and how through tourism, santandereano people want to promote it more.
You will have free time to explore this little town, take a break and a refreshing local drink, and then visit its viewpoints, church and enchanting small streets and old houses. Once you had time to rest, you will take the way back to Barichara through the same path, to wrap up a day of good walk to remember. You will also have the option to take a little bus that take people back to Barichara in case you are tired.
After visiting both places and trekking for a while, you will head back to your hotel so you can rest the rest of the day. We think this is one of those memorable experiences that will make you remember and treasure your trip to Colombia and its magical diversity. Join us and be part of this.

Traveler reviews
Camino Real Guane
The road is beautiful. Leave well early, the tour is 2 to 3 hours, for uneven stones, if there is a lot of sun you can have a heat stroke. Better before 9 am.
Enjoyable
My husband and I had a great time on this tour. It was only the two of us. Uriel was a great tour guide and looked after us well. We definitely recommend this tour
Great views - best done early to beat the heat.
Our guide Uriel was fantastic. Because he took the time and effort to add a great deal of historical and native information about the region, it became more than just a walk. He came prepared with additional hiking poles for the steeper areas which was extremely helpful. We have used other Trip Avisor tour hikes & Uriel made it one of the best. Just a note on the trail conditions: the trip description on Trip Avisor webpage could be improved. There are some quite steep sections on the trail with large cobblestones that deserve to be noted for those walkers who have some challenges in such conditions. Hiking poles are advised. Some fantastic views. We highly recommend it.
Barichara to Guane Day Tour
Our driver Marcos and guide Uriel were EXCELLENT! The trail is beautiful and our guide provided the opportunity to learn about native life and traditions. Thank you Marcos for your excellent driving - those mountain roads are a challenge and Uriel- you accommodated us SO WELL and were SO encouraging! Best to start early and if doing hotel pick up- choose the 6:00am option as it gets VERY hot. Suggest bringing more water than you expect to need!
