Boston to Plymouth day trip
Wife and I enjoyed the tour with Chris as our guide. We saw several small towns on the way to Plymouth while he provided a fine commentary. Plenty of time in Plymouth to see the sites, eat lunch, and shop. Extremely well done by New England Trips and Chris.
Highly worth
Excellent tour with lots of useful information and historical information before and during the visits to the sites. The little towns south of Boston are worth seeing and the drive along the coast is relaxing and showing very interesting places. I had excellent lunch in Plymouth and very interesting conversations at Plimoth Patuxet. This has been th best tour around Boston so far.
A TERRIBLE EXCURSION!!!
Even though the weather cannot be controlled, leaving my husband and me stranded on the curb/roadside in a windy downpour of rain without any nearby open cafe or restaurant to retreat to in order to get out of the strong downpour was UNACCEPTABLE, but THAT is what the driver did. Upon disembarking from the tour minibus to enter the Mayflower II replica to have a quick look around inside it (where the rain was also dripping thru) we were not given any heads up by him that he would be moving the bus where we wouldn’t be able to find it upon exiting the ship exhibit. We are seventy-plus years of age and are physically unable to run a half mile (or so) down the road in a hard downpour to a cafe or restaurant that MIGHT be open! The umbrella we were provided was not adequate in keeping us dry from the strong wind and rain for the duration of time allocated by the operator of this tour excursion as we frantically walked and searched for an open public place to go inside. When we finally found one such place we immediately contacted the booking agent (Viator/TripAdvisor) who then put us in touch with the office of the contracted tour excursion business (New England Trips LLC) whose office employee told us that he would call the bus driver to come pick us up. When the driver FINALLY arrived, he unapologetically stated to us that he had moved the bus away from where he had dropped us off because he was “not allowed to park there”. Be that as it may, there was NO EXCUSE for NOT telling us prior to our disembarking that the bus would not be there after exiting from the ship exhibit AND also for inaccurately telling us that the one restaurant across the street was open for lunch if we would like to go there. That restaurant’s entrance was locked and it was NOT open for business at lunchtime. By the end of all this we were soaking wet, hungry, exhausted, angry and frustrated. Due to the unacceptable circumstances the bus driver put us in, this excursion was a TOTAL WASTE OF OUR TIME AND MONEY. The additional fact that the minibus lacks a good suspension system and the passengers feel EVERY bump in the road making for a very uncomfortable ride as the driver sped along made an extremely bad situation even worse. I would give this tour a rating of NO STARS if that was possible. It was an absolutely TERRIBLE experience and I would NOT recommend it to anyone.
Our guide was very...
Our guide was very knowledgeable and congenial. I feel like the time at the stops in Plymouth could have been shorter, but I did enjoy the trip down the coastal highway through the little towns/villages
Excellent tour
Lots of sites in a short period of time. Easy and convenient way to sightsee. Well paced. Chris is an excellent guide.
