The Best Bogota Private Tour!
I recently spent an unforgettable day exploring Bogotá with Gran Colombia Tours, and it was easily one of the highlights of my entire trip. My guide, Camilo, was nothing short of exceptional — a true ambassador of Colombia whose passion for his country shines through in every story, every explanation, and every moment he shares. Over the course of seven hours, Camilo brought Bogotá to life. From the breathtaking views atop Monserrate to the colorful streets of La Candelaria, he wove together history, culture, humor, and insight in a way that made every stop feel meaningful. His knowledge of the Gold Museum, the Botero Museum, and the Basilica Primada was deep and engaging, and he had a gift for connecting Colombia’s past with its present. Our driver, Oscar, was also wonderful — kind, attentive, and always making sure we were comfortable and safe. Together, they created a seamless experience that felt both personal and expertly organized. The coffee and fruit tasting, the walk through Chorro de Quevedo, the art, the stories, the flavors — it all added up to a day I’ll never forget. If you want a tour that goes beyond sightseeing and truly immerses you in the heart of Colombia, ask for Camilo. He represents his country with pride, warmth, and genuine love.

Much to Improve …
The tour guide (Juan) provided a nice smile and was friendly. Unfortunately, his English communication was quite limited so the rest of my family just ignored him and walked away. I tried to be nice and pretended to listen. But frankly after a few hours of this listening, I developed a headache. It was definitely much more helpful to just read about the arts and artifacts in the museums. Juan also did not have much content to provide in terms of local history and culture. Over a period of 7 hours, Juan really tried to push us to shop and eat at places where he would get a commission (but I am not that bothered by this since many other tour guides would do the same). Juan is probably a bit more aggressive. So my final rating are … Tour Organizer - 2/10 (good itinerary but knowingly assigned someone not able to communicate in English for an English only tour) Tour Guide - 3/10. Friendly but needs to improve his English (if he wants to support English speaking tourists). He can still try to make a few side pesos but cannot be so forceful to push the tourists to “his” preferred shops/restaurants. He needs to create more content to educate the tourists.
Camilo was a great guide...
Camilo was a great guide on this city tour. He shared a lot of knowledge about Colombian history and culture and took us to the best place for lunch. Would highlight recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Bogota by foot.
Pleasant and knowledgeable guide.
Best guide ever. We have been all over the world and Gerald is one of the most knowledge and pleasant guide we have ever had.
