Traveler reviews
Great way to see the city
Such a great way to see the city! We did have some confusion on when to change routes but overall very happy & even booked a 2nd day.
First Visit to London
The experience gave us a good feeling for the layout of London. The audio tour did not follow where we were on the tour so difficult to follow.
Don't do it!
Without a doubt, this is the worst hop-on/hop-off tour we have ever taken. We rode the Green route from our hotel area to a connection with the Blue route. We spent total of about 2.5 hours riding, and left with 1/3rd of Blue route left because we were bored. 90% of the time, they just played snippets of classical music (With the huge catalog of classical music, you would think they did not need to repeat the snippet every 20 minutes.) Half of the remaining time, they announced stops with the same reminder to take your stuff. Of the 5% devoted to telling you something about where you are and what you see, it was mostly banal and frequently announced after you had passed what they were talking about. The presentation was amateurish. And the staff was not friendly or helpful. We stopped at one place, the driver got off without a word and walked away. Left us sitting. 5 minutes later, someone shows up and after another 5 minutes tell us we need to change busses.
Poor experience wouldn’t recommend
Take my advice and think again if you want a positive experience with an effective service. Despite the information provided the bus did not regularly turn up at designated stops - at one stage we had to wait almost an hour. Due to traffic and the route it would be impossible to hop on and off at each stop during the day tour. We downloaded the app to assist but walked to two stops only to find they were not being serviced that day. At one pick up the bus was so overcrowded there were more people standing than sitting and if standing it felt quite unsafe and you couldn’t access the commentary. Use the tube - much cheaper and more convenient
The Best Way to See All That London Has to Offer!!
Definitely the best way to see all that London has to offer! The bus tour helped my wife and I identify key places that we wanted to go back and visit. Our guide Emma was awesome! Her enthusiasm and knowledge of London, the Royals, and Jack the Ripper was exceptional. We also did the river cruise which was great and provided a unique view of the city. We highly recommend Big Bus Hop-On-Hop-Off Tours!
