Badlands Wildlife and Sunset Tour with My XO Adventures was one of the highlights of our trip to South Dakota. Everything was seamless and personable. Aimee was very helpful in booking our tour, coordinating pickup time while taking into account possible rain showers, and ordering our boxed lunches. Our tour guide, Dan, was amazing. You can tell Dan genuinely loves what he does. He shared many interesting stories about the area's history, geology, wildlife and hidden gems. We made a quick stop at Wall Drug Store and we never felt rushed. Dan knew exactly where to stop for the most breathtaking views and to find all kinds of wildlife. We even enjoyed a lightening show. Thank you Dan, and the team at My XO Adventures, for creating such a special memory for our family!
This was, hands down, one of the highlights of our entire vacation!!! We booked the Badlands & Night Sky Tour with Logan, expecting a 5:00–10:00 PM tour, but it ended up being closer to 4:00 PM–midnight. At first, I was a little nervous about that with five kids (ages 2–15), but it was absolutely worth every minute. The extra time allowed us to experience the Badlands in the most beautiful evening light, enjoy dinner during sunset, and stay for incredible stargazing. Logan was phenomenal. He is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about the outdoors, and never ran out of interesting things to share. From wildlife and geology to the history of the area, he kept us engaged the entire time. Even our kids stayed interested, which says a lot! The two-hour drive each way flew by because he was constantly telling stories, sharing facts, and answering questions. He’s also a talented photographer and surprised us with over 100 stunning professional photos after the tour, which was such an unexpected bonus. The van was spacious, comfortable, and Logan was a very safe driver. We also loved stopping at Wall Drug before heading into Badlands National Park—it was a fun addition to the evening. The experience was made even more special by Daniel, the owner, who met us at the stargazing site with zero-gravity chairs, blankets, and equipment so we could fully enjoy the night sky. At the end of the evening, he even gave each of our kids postcards with postage stamps so they could mail them during our trip. It was such a thoughtful touch. The only thing to know before booking is that there is a lot of driving. But honestly, with Logan’s nonstop conversation, stories, and knowledge, the time passed so quickly that none of us minded. I also have to give a shoutout to Amiee, the booking coordinator, who made the entire experience seamless from the very beginning. She was incredibly communicative, keeping us updated on everything from the weather forecast and pickup time to our picnic dinner order. Customer service like hers really sets this company apart. If you’re considering this tour, book it!! It was an unforgettable experience - Logan and Daniel went above and beyond to make it truly special.
We had an amazing time in the Badlands with Logan. His wildlife knowledge was par to none and we must have stopped a couple dozen times as he pointed out critters we never would have noticed driving ourselves. Logan was very punctual, courteous, and just an absolute pleasure to spend the day with as we traversed on and off the Badlands.
