Full‑day private Burgundy discovery
Discover the historic heart and vineyard landscapes of Burgundy on this exclusive full‑day private tour from Dijon, combining Autun, Beaune and the famed Clos de Vougeot in one seamless day with your own driver‑guide.
Departure from Dijon
Your experience begins in Dijon, where your professional guide‑driver welcomes you aboard a comfortable, air‑conditioned vehicle and outlines the day’s itinerary as you head through rolling countryside and vineyards towards Autun.
Autun, from Rome to the Middle Ages
In Autun, a town founded by the Romans, you explore major Gallo‑Roman and medieval landmarks, from the vast Roman theatre—one of the largest in the ancient world—to the remarkable Cathédrale Saint‑Lazare, a jewel of Romanesque art.
Beaune and the Hospices de Beaune
You then continue to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, where entry to the Hospices de Beaune (Hôtel‑Dieu) is included. Inside this perfectly preserved 15th‑century hospital, you follow a self‑guided audio tour through its iconic polychrome‑tiled courtyard, historical halls and museum spaces, discovering the story of its founders and centuries of charitable winemaking. Afterwards, enjoy free time to wander Beaune’s medieval streets, browse the market square and choose a café, bistro or wine bar for lunch or a tasting at your own expense.
Château du Clos de Vougeot
In the afternoon, your route leads along the legendary Route des Grands Crus to the Château du Clos de Vougeot, the spiritual home of Burgundy’s Grand Cru Pinot Noir. Here you visit the historic winemaking estate, from its medieval vat house and monumental wine presses to the ancient Cistercian cellars, while learning how the site became headquarters of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, the wine brotherhood dedicated to celebrating Burgundy’s wines and traditions.
Return to Dijon
As the day draws to a close, you sit back and relax on the drive back to Dijon, with drop‑off at your hotel, rental or the train station, bringing an enriching and effortlessly organized Burgundy adventure to an end.

Reviews
A pleasant short boat ride, beautiful surroundings. But the English translation did not fit with the altered tour, did not mention plenty of formations that the guide was explaining in French and didn't bother to switch to English for the rest of us (yes he knew English), so we missed out on a lot. Plus the guide made fun of english speakers, as evidenced by the pointed laughter in the direction of those wearing headphones.
Our guide was excellent, both knowledgeable and friendly. She was especially knowledgeable about the wine industry even before we got to the vineyards
