Itinerary
Sightseeing in Athens starts with the hill of Acropolis which will make your day. Pass by: The Propylaea is the monumental entrances to the sacred area dedicated to Athena, the patron goddess of the city. Built by the architect Mnesicles with Pentelic marble, their design was avant-garde. To the south-west of the Propylaea, on a rampart protecting the main entrance to the Acropolis, is the Ionian temple of Apteros Nike.
Parthenon, the main temple dedicated to the virgin goddess Athena. The eternal symbol of the Athenian Democracy and the Western Civilization.
Pass by: Temple of Poseidon and Athena, the strangest and most sacred place in ancient Athens.
Pass by: Temple dedicated to the goddess Athena Nike or Wingless Victory.
Pass by: The Theatre of Dionysus Eleuthereus is a major theatre in Athens, considered to be the world's first theatre, built at the foot of the Athenian Acropolis.
Pass by: The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a stone Roman theater structure located on the southwest slope of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. The building was completed in 161 AD and then renovated in 1950.
We will visit Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896.
Pass by: The work Dromeas by Kostas Varotsos was constructed in 1988. The initial version includes fragments of glass that interact with the natural and artificial light, but also water, a version that was supported for a while. Being the first public work of modern art in Athens it sparked a series of discussions and disagreements.
Then moving into the historical center of the city we will drive up the highest hill of Athens, Lycabettus Hill, where you’ll have the best panoramic view of the city, from the hill of Acropolis to the Aegean Sea.

Fantastic way to see Athens in a day
Tolis, our driver, was everything we were hoping for. Kind and very knowledgeable about the city and its history. We appreciated getting to see the city sights in an efficient way that helped us use our time well.
Don’t miss this tour with Panos!
Our tour with Panos (and expert guide Margaret) was fantastic! He was friendly and shared great insights, and Margaret’s detailed knowledge of the ancient Acropolis (Parthenon and temples) was second to none!
An amazing way to see the best of Athens
We had an absolutely fantastic private tour of Athens with Manos and couldn’t have asked for a better guide. His knowledge, organisation, and timing made all the difference. He expertly planned our day so we arrived at attractions at exactly the right times to avoid the queues, which meant we spent our time enjoying Athens rather than waiting. Thank you Manos!
