This was the city’s market area under Roman rule, and it occupied a much larger area than the current site borders. Syntagma Square is the central square of Athens, Greece. The square is named after the Constitution that Otto, the first King of Greece, was obliged to grant after a popular and military uprising on 3 September 1843. A must walking tour to see what Athens offers - Amazing guide

If you’re planning to explore Athens, the Athens Highlights Walking Touris an absolute must—and having Dimos as your guide will make it unforgettable! Dimos is hands down the best guide I’ve ever had. His passion for Athens and its history is contagious, and his storytelling brings the city to life in a way that no guidebook ever could. He masterfully blends ancient history with modern-day Athens, making every stop along the tour both fascinating and engaging. What sets Dimos apart is his ability to tailor the experience to the group, answering questions with a wealth of knowledge and a warm, friendly demeanor. He takes you beyond the well-trodden tourist spots, uncovering hidden gems and sharing insights that make you feel like a local. From strolling through charming neighborhoods to discovering breathtaking views of the Acropolis from lesser-known angles, every moment of the tour was captivating. Dimos’s enthusiasm and expertise made this walking tour not just a highlight of my trip to Athens but one of the best guided experiences I’ve ever had. Highly, highly recommended—this tour (and Dimos!) deserves all the stars!
