Fun Tour But… (NOTICE FOR NUT ALLERGIES)

Just want to say that we had overall a pretty good time on the tour. The tour guide was super knowledgable and nice throughout the whole tour, he was really funny and kept the whole group laughing. All of the spots we got to see were beautiful and full of so much history. The only downside we found is for guests with nut allergies. The tour offers water and a granola bar for a snack which is really nice but unfortunately all of the granola bars contained nuts. My wife has a severe nut allergy where even just touching a surface that someone else touched who ate nuts can send risk sending her into anaphylactic shock. We notified our guide of the severe nut allergy and were hoping that he would give out the granola bars after the tour due to the allergy so at least people would be able to enjoy whats expected on the tour. Instead, he decided to give everyone a granola bar right after we told him that she is allergic, so every other person on the truck was eating nuts around us while driving to the next spot. Once we reached the next spot, we didn't feel comfortable enough to get back onto the truck and risk having her touch a surface not knowing and take a trip to the hospital, so we notified the guide of the situation. He was super apologetic about the whole thing and brought us to a park ranger to help get us get back to our hotel since we had no service to call a taxi. Unfortunately, the company itself did not want to bring out a car to come bring us back to our hotel so it was either spend a ton of money on a taxi or somehow find a ride. Luckily the park supervisor was super nice and understanding of the situation as she also had a nut allergy. She tried to work with the Pelican Adventures to see if they would get a car to bring us back as it was their fault we were in this situation in the first place. Although she talked with them a bit, they thought it would be nice if the park supervisor would bring us back to our hotel instead of the company providing us a ride back. This is NOT HER JOB, she gave the company that as an option as a last case scenario as she felt bad about us having to spend so much money getting a taxi from the park back to our hotel. We were a 30+ minute drive away which for taxis in Aruba is not a cheap ride. Luckily we had someone as nice and amazing as her to help us out but it should not have come down to that in the first place.

Great adventure!

We had a blast with JP our guide. Loved swimming in the natural pool! Took a snorkel and saw a lot of fish even a snowflake eel! Glad we don't get car sick, because it's a bumpy ride! They supplied water and snacks. Bring water shoes for natural pool and I'm glad I wore sneakers for walking in the caves. It's a must do, if you're in Aruba!
