At each estate, enjoy guided tastings of their finest wines, comparing styles and learning how terroir, grape varieties, and traditions shape Alsace’s distinctive white wines.

As you stroll through breathtaking vineyard landscapes, you’ll gain deeper insights into the culture and traditions that define Alsace. With transportation in a premium minivan and a knowledgeable guide, this small-group experience is perfect for wine enthusiasts and curious beginners alike, promising unforgettable moments amidst scenic views and warm local hospitality.

Discover the Essence of the Alsace Wine Route
Stretching along the eastern foothills of the Vosges Mountains, the Alsace Wine Route is one of France’s most scenic and distinctive wine regions. Vineyards unfold across gentle hillsides dotted with medieval villages, flower-filled streets, and centuries-old estates where winemaking traditions have been carefully preserved for generations.

Departing from Colmar, this full-day small-group experience invites you to explore the region at a relaxed pace, combining exceptional wines, cultural discovery, and breathtaking landscapes. Traveling in a comfortable premium minivan with an expert English-speaking driver-guide, you gain insight into both the history and the living traditions that shape Alsace today.

A Wine Region Defined by Terroir and Tradition
Unlike other French wine regions dominated by blends, Alsace is celebrated for its expressive single-varietal wines. Throughout the day, you will discover how geography, climate, and soil influence iconic grapes such as Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Muscat.

Visits to carefully selected wineries introduce you to passionate local producers who share their expertise during guided tastings. These encounters provide more than simple wine sampling — they offer a deeper understanding of craftsmanship, family heritage, and the unique character of Alsace wines.

Each tasting reveals how subtle differences in terroir create remarkable diversity within a relatively small region, making Alsace one of the most fascinating wine destinations in France.

Scenic Villages and Authentic Encounters
Beyond the vineyards, the Alsace Wine Route is renowned for its remarkably preserved villages. Half-timbered houses, colorful facades, and cobblestone streets create an atmosphere that feels almost timeless.

During the day, you will pause in one of these picturesque villages, allowing time to stroll, explore local shops, or enjoy lunch at your own pace. Your guide provides recommendations tailored to your interests, helping you experience the region as a traveler rather than simply a visitor.

This balance between guided discovery and personal exploration makes the experience both enriching and relaxing.

Travel in Comfort, Designed for Small Groups
Limiting the group to a maximum of eight guests ensures a more personal and immersive experience. Traveling in a premium Mercedes minivan allows access to smaller roads and wineries often unavailable to larger tours, while encouraging meaningful interaction with your guide and fellow travelers.

Every detail — transportation, winery appointments, and tasting arrangements — is organized in advance so you can focus entirely on enjoying the journey through Alsace’s landscapes and flavors.

Local Expertise and Carefully Curated Experiences
Operated by Ophorus, a licensed French tour company specializing in small-group experiences since 2005, this tour reflects years of local relationships and regional expertise. Winery partners are selected not only for the quality of their wines but also for the authenticity of the experience they offer visitors.

Your guide shares stories of regional history, winemaking evolution, and daily life in Alsace, transforming the journey into a deeper cultural experience rather than a simple sightseeing excursion.

An Unforgettable Introduction to Alsace Wines
By the end of the day, you will have explored the diversity of Alsace’s vineyards, met passionate producers, and experienced the charm of one of France’s most beautiful regions. Whether you are discovering Alsace wines for the first time or expanding an existing passion, this full-day journey offers a thoughtful and memorable immersion into the spirit of the Wine Route.

We had a great day with Manon taking us through this beautiful location. We were fortunate it was a small group so we were able to ask so many questions all day and she was quite knowledgeable. It was a hot day so we were able to spread out in the comfortable van. The boat ride was beautiful and relaxing, such beautiful scenery all around us. We found a nice spot for lunch that had the menu items we were looking for. The wine tasting at the end of the tour was a great ending. We will have fond memories.
