Traveler reviews
Beyond our expectations!
Our four-day trek on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu was truly the experience of a lifetime, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I went with my 15 year old son and we will never forget it! Our guides, Nil and Fernando, were absolutely exceptional. From the moment we started, we felt safe and genuinely cared for. They led a perfect balance with the pace of the hike, allowing everyone to experience the trail to the fullest. They made it easy for everyone to move at their own pace while still creating a fun, connected group experience and cheered for us at every step. The food was beyond anything we expected. The chef was incredible, and every meal was outstanding. It’s hard to believe what they were able to prepare on the trail! The scenery was breathtaking every single day. Along the way, Nil and Fernando shared history and insights at each Incan site, making the trek so much more than just a hike. By the time we reached Machu Picchu, we had such a deeper appreciation for what we were seeing. The guides were incredibly funny and made an effort to connect with each person. We didn’t expect to laugh so much while doing something so physically challenging. Having every detail handled made the experience stress-free. From setting up camp each day to navigating the buses and trains on the return trip, everything was easy. They even knew the exact locations and timing for the best photos at Machu Picchu and provided an outstanding guided tour. The organization, the incredible food, the stunning views, the historical knowledge, and the leadership of Nil made it unforgettable. We feel incredibly lucky to have the group and the guides that we did to make it even better.

Life changing experience that I will never forget.
A Memorable Adventure
I highly recommend TreXperience for this incredible 4-day Inca Trail trek. Edy, the lead guide, was incredibly kind, and his kindness was matched only by his deep knowledge of the Inca world and the Quechua people. The entire team — porters, chefs, and guides alike — truly rose to the occasion throughout this wonderful adventure. My wife, my three children, and I had an amazing time during these 4 days, and the TreXperience team is largely to thank for it.
Must Book!!!
Highly recommend booking the 4-Day Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu & Panoramic Train with TreXperience!! This is an outstanding way to remember one of the seven world wonders. My boyfriend and I are so incredibly grateful for our guide (Elias), our chef (Ramon), head porter (Santos), and the porters (Melchor, Tomas, Marcelino, Rodolfo, Felix, Juan, Valentin, Efrain, and Esteban). This will be a special memory forever for us, and we could not have done it without them. Things to note: the porters will beat you to the top every time (make sure to tip them well!!), the food is actually amazing, and Elias is the most knowledgeable guide I have ever had (and happiest). Must book!
Would recommend this trek!
My husband and I did the 4-day Inca trail trek to Machu Picchu with Trexperience and we really enjoyed it. Trexperience was very accommodating in helping us rent all the equipment needed, picked us up in Ollantaytambo to start our trek, and brought our bags back to their Cusco office that we didn't need during the trek. We were able to do our pre-trek meeting with our guide, Daniel, over WhatsApp which answered all our questions and gave a good preview of the trek. We met our guide, Daniel, and assistant guide, Luis Miguel, on day 1 and started the trek after a quick bus ride to KM82 from Ollantaytambo. Overall, the trek experience was wonderful. Day 1 seemed a little slow for us with a lot of stops, but we understood that was necessary for acclimating and making sure everyone in the group was good. Unfortunately, one in our group did need to turn back after day 1 with Luis Miguel. The rest of the trek, all participants in the group were able to go at our own pace (fast or slow). On night 1, our camp wasn't set up and ready when we arrived, so we had to wait, but I am unaware if that is because we were fast, their was an error with the porters, or a combination of both. However, after that minor inconvenience, our porters and the lead porter, Inocencio, were on top of everything! They had our tents set up with our equipment and belongings. Our chef, Santos, and his team were incredible! All of the food was delicious and plentiful! They always had fresh water and warm water ready for us, they provided washing basins, etc. They were accommodating of all dietary restrictions and there were so many options at each meal that even if you didn't like one dish, there were at least four other dishes to choose from. Also, they tell you to bring snacks, but with the amount of food at meals and the snacks they provide, you will have plenty. I was hoping to lose weight on the trek and that did not happen. :) Daniel also ensured that our group was one of the first in line to enter Machu Picchu, which helped us get to the sun gate first! Once arriving at Machu Picchu, my husband and I paid to include the Machu Picchu Montaña hike, which I would recommend. Daniel was accommodating to us and was able to give us the tour of Machu Picchu Circuit 3 after the rest of our group as we did the hike first. Because we did the hike, this means that we missed out on a little more time in Aguas Calientes, which I think was fine, but something you may want to know about beforehand. Even with the hike though, we still had enough time to eat lunch and get our train back to Ollantaytambo. Trexperience picked us back up and transported us back to Cusco and set up private transport to our Cusco accommodations. Daniel also provided pictures to us after the trek. The only negative I have about the trek was the confusion of tips. It is difficult to know the amount to tip as what our guide told us vs. what the Trexperience email provided had a major range/discrepancy. Also, you don't know how many porters are coming with you until the day before and some of our porters and our assistant guide dropped out because one trekker turned back so the tipping was just confusing for us. Other than that, I would highly recommend Trexperience and enjoyed the trek. I would love to go back and try Salkantay now.
