Traveler reviews
Our kayak trip was cancelled when we arrived.
When we arrived, we informed that our prepaid kayak trip was cancelled. We had no advance notice and were very disappointed.
Nice people and scary situation.
I really want to be able to give this a higher rating. However, I just can't do that. While my kids and I did have an enjoyable time in the water kayaking. I can't say I recommend this tour operator. To be fair. It could just be a one-off and the day. However, here we're some of my struggles. We arrived 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour and didn't start till 15 minutes after the tour was scheduled to start. Now we work promised that we would still get all the time we paid for it unfortunately also to not happen. We purchased a dry bag and waterproof phone carriers plus three bottles of water and those were never given to us. We weren't really checked in either. They asked us the name which I gave but they never checked for the liability waiver. While myself and my daughter had completed it online, my 19-year-old son had not. There was clearly a guide who was in charge. I do not remember his name. There were two other guys in training that was more of a high school outing, then learning how to professionally handle customers safety and how to properly conduct a tour. The last straw was my son's Kayak apparently didn't have plugs in it and when we were halfway through the tour he noticed it and had to return back. By the time he was back he had a significant amount of water and was clearly ready well on the way to the boat sinking. Needless to say I'm disappointed. It was a lot of money and while there were some enjoyable parts overall I would not return. I wish I remember the number of our tour guide. He was the positive. He was kind checked in on on myself and my daughter and when I alerted him to the issue he caught up to my son and followed him back to the landing point. I've read all of the amazing reviews so do hope that this was a one-off. I hope they can make it necessary changes to make this the last negative review.
Amazing
The guide Rafael was wonderful and patient. I was a first time kayaker and he taught me tips that helped without making me feel bad. He was knowledgeable and great!
This is a definitely must do activity
Rafael was an amazing Host we so enjoyed him and will definitely recommend that when you book request Mr. Rafael. Thank you
Good idea but poorly executed
The guide was an hour late, I paid for a 2 hour tour and only had a 1 hour tour. The office staff were not helpful or professional. The guide didn’t know anything about the nature of the bayou or the history of Houston. We really enjoyed being on the water, it’s an interesting to IEC the city, the equipment was fine but there was nothing remarkable about the chosen route. Just rent your own kayak and go! Not worth the $
