Traveler reviews
Great experience and great guide
Our guide was amazing and experienced. He was very knowledgeable about the area and made our hike less intense. He also has a good sense of humor and we enjoyed our time with him. The lunch provided during the hike was also amazing and make sure to tip the porters and cooks generously as they are carrying and preparing all the food midway through the hike. They are the real heroes. Our hotel for the night was good, clean however the smell from the restaurant of the hotel was overwhelming and it made it hard to sleep. The train back to the city Ollantaytambo was nice and relaxing but I’m sure we could have done a less pricey one and saved on the trip which would have gone for out lunch the second that was not included. Overall this is a good company to travel with and very organized
Worth Every Penny
The absolute highlight of our trip to Peru. The organisation was wonderful, the food was out of this world and the guides were very supportive and friendly. A big shout out to Rosmel and Danilo for helping me and my mother up the Inca Trail and truly making this a once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend booking your trip to Machu Picchu with this company, it's worth every penny.
2 day Machu Picchu trek May 2026
We did the 2-day Machu Picchu visit led by Danny and Lourdes. It was absolutely brilliant - Trexperience organised a complicated trip really well. Our two guides in particular were outstanding. Danny and Lourdes were clear with explanations, they gave great insight into the Inca history, and they were particularly excellent on the trek with a group of varying abilities, allowing a good balance of rest stops on the hike, whilst making sure we arrived at Machu Picchu in good time on both days to dodge the crowds. The lunch (5 dishes!) put on during the trek was way above expectations. We would encourage people considering this tour to be realistic about their abilities - the start of the hike is more than an hour up steep stone steps. And bear in mind that the overnight accommodation is basic (although clean). Overall this was a fantastic tour and an unforgettable experience arriving at Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate!
Great tour with Frank, Balbino and TreXperience
Had a great experience on the short 2-day Inca hike to Machu Picchu with Frank and Balbino. Both were very attentive on the hike making sure everyone was OK and enjoying the experience. While on the train Frank messaged us to inform everyone that we would be getting on at KM 106 rather than 104 to ensure no one was confused; however, the stairs and switchbacks (I refer to them as Inka escalators) are fairly challenging but Frank was constantly checking on everyone as we made the climb to the Winay Wayna ruins and our lunch location. My wife has multiple screws in her knee and was struggling with the stairs. Balbino noticed this and offered to carry her pack which made a huge difference for her! The lunch provided was extraordinary in both quality and quantity especially considering the location and the work required to present this feast at this remote location! We booked the two day hike to ensure we would get a good look at Machu Picchu from different routes and in case the weather was bad on one day; but, we lucked out and the weather was awesome on both! TreXperience is a very organized tour company providing a truly first rate experience!
Would recommend to anyone
