2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Doing the 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu was a dream come true, and this trip made it unforgettable. Our guides, Evangelino and Virgilio, were absolutely amazing, knowledgeable, friendly, and so helpful every step of the way. They brought the history and culture of the trail to life and made sure everyone felt supported, whether we were pushing through a tough climb or soaking in the views. A huge shoutout to the porters and cooks, especially Chef Raymond, for the incredible meals we had up in the mountains. I genuinely didn't expect food that delicious at that altitude. If you're considering this trek, do it. The team here goes above and beyond to make it a truly special experience. So grateful for everyone who made this dream come true. ☺️

Spellbinding 2 day hike to Machu Picchu

Our 18 member family went on an amazing 2 day Machu Picchu adventure with our amazing guide Roger. He lead with a steady hand and did a great job making every level of hiker feel comfortable. His knowledge of everything Incan, the history of ruins we passed and Peruvian flora and fauna were amazing. On top of all that, his sense of humor was incredible. Highly highly recommend Roger as guide and the TreXperience crew!! 10/10

It was a great experience for me. The guides and staff were very professional, and the luggage transportation service was excellent.

A perfect Inca Trail with an extraordinary guide.

Here is a natural translation into Spanish, slightly improved to further highlight the skill of the guide: The two-day Inca Trail with David was truly an unforgettable experience! From the afternoon before the departure, David made sure that we had all the necessary information to be perfectly prepared. From the very first moment, he made us feel at home and, in addition, he had a lot of patience with us, allowing us to practice the Spanish we have been studying for only a few months. Throughout the entire journey, he shared with us an enormous amount of information, always with enthusiasm, kindness, and a great passion for his work. He made an effort to teach us and show us everything possible, making each moment even more special. The landscapes are spectacular, and the arrival at the Sun Gate, with the first view of Machu Picchu, was simply thrilling. The next day, we woke up early to visit Machu Picchu, and David gifted us with a fascinating explanation, full of very interesting facts, patiently and clearly answering all our questions. I recommend this experience 100%, and if you have the opportunity to do it with David, do not hesitate: he is an exceptional guide who makes you feel at home from the very first moment and makes the experience even more unforgettable.

50th birthday trip to Machu Picchu

Roger and Danielo from TreXperience were a dream team! Roger came to our hotel in Ollantaytambo the night before we took the train to mile marker 104 (106 is closed due to avalanche). Roger debriefed us on what to expect for our 2 day Inca Trail & Machu Picchu hike. He was extremely organized, which in turn helped our group of 14 hikers to be organized (and stress-free). A delicious breakfast, prepared by Chef Placido, was set up for our when we got off the train. Fresh fruit, oats, breads, Peruvian eggs, coffee, tea, etc etc helped to fuel us up before we began our hike. The first 3 hours of the hike are strenuous, but Roger did a great job with motivating us and recognizing/understanding when we needed to take breaks to catch our breath and take in the scenery. Danielo followed the group to make sure we were all safe and both men did an excellent job informing us on the history of the trail and keeping our spirits/energy high. We stopped at Winaywayna for some unbelievable views and exploration of Inca ruins. Roger gave our group another history lesson (with breath taking scenery), while Chef Placido made us a delicious lunch, with fresh Peruvian ingredients. *There are bathrooms (squatty potties) at this pit stop. Bring your own toilet paper!* Chef boiled water for us to refill and we set out for the last leg of the hike. This portion of the trail was not as challenging as the first part, and provided much shade. More vistas and Jurassic Park-looking flora. Just magical. Hug the mountain side as some portions of the trail are skinny. And you cannot rely on any ‘railings’ to support or hold you. The monkey steps, aka ‘Gringo Killer’ were challenging, but also rather fun and energizing bc we knew we’re getting close to the Sun Gate. Roger and Danielo graciously held our hiking poles as we pushed up the steep steps. When you make it to the Sun Gate, your breath will be taken away, and perhaps a few tears will be shed. Roger is an excellent photographer, and will make sure you get all of the photos that you want (& even ones you didn’t know you wanted)! Exploring Machu Picchu at sunset was very special. That golden hour across the mountain peaks is magical. The next day, our group watched the sunrise at Machu Picchu with circuits 2 & 3. Roger & Danielo came prepared for all of our questions and group needs. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour! Thank you Roger and Danielo and Chef Placido!!
