terrible experience

I booked the tour through Civitatis at a reasonable price, even considered high by other tour operators. The price included tickets to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. However, on the day of the tour, for no apparent reason, the tour manager told me that the tickets weren't included and that I would have to pay for them at the attractions. This was frustrating and made our experience extremely unpleasant, leaving us feeling cheated. When I tried to explain the situation, Golden Tours washed their hands of the matter and told us to go back to Civitatis. In short, I paid $450 to travel in a mediocre bus, without food, and only being able to admire the sights I wanted to see with my family from the outside. For that money, I could have rented a car, bought tickets, food, and some peace of mind, and still had money left over. I will never use this service again.

Great day out for history

Great tour with a top class guide in Amanda who worked very hard to make sure everyone had a goof tour. Great emphasis on punctuality which was welcome. This trip was essentially a taster trip as we could have done with more time in Oxford and especially in Windsor. Two issues: there was no food stop which was not appropriate for such a long trip and secondly the fact that there was no toilet on the bus was unsatisfactory and inexcusable in this day and age - especially given the amount of time on the bus. However, a great good value tour with opportunities to visit three special places in England.

Too much to see too little timr

Read carefully to know that admission is not included. It’s the perfect trip to Stone Henge. There isn’t enough time to see the attractions at Windsor Castle or Oxford.

Good trip but would have been great!

The tour was enjoyable, but the rushed pace due to trying to fit three locations into one felt a bit rushed. This isn’t a critique of the guides; I believe the company should consider reducing the number of locations. You’ll have approximately 1-1.5 hours per location, expect this and you won’t be disappointed. However, there won’t be much time for eating or shopping. David, our guide, was professional and ensured everyone arrived and departed on time. Our driver, Claude, was also good. Skip the lunch option! The meal was a healthy very but dry Mediterranean bowl.
