A lake that looks like a pint of Guinness? Welcome to Lough Tay, a superb Irish lake in Ireland’s Wicklow Mountains National Park (Co. Wicklow). The lake is not only magnificent, it literally looks like a pint! Boasting a white sandy beach (which is surprising, by the way), Lough Tay has all the attributes of a stout glass: from the white foam to its dark color! It’s a really nice spot, ideal for admiring on a short hike or road trip!

Glendalough is home to one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland. This early Christian monastic settlement was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century and from this developed the “Monastic City”. Most of the buildings that survive today date from the 10th through 12th centuries. Despite attacks by Vikings over the years, Glendalough thrived as one of Ireland’s great ecclesiastical foundations and schools of learning until the Normans destroyed the monastery in 1214 A.D. and the dioceses of Glendalough and Dublin were united. Close to the monastic city is the interactive centre. The centre features an audio visual and has a model of the monastic site on display. You will be welcomed by a friendly and knowledgeable staff where all your questions will be answered. Glendalough is one of the top attraction on Ireland’s Ancient East

Awesome Wicklow tour

Pat was an awesome tour guide. Took the Wicklow tour and the landscape was absolutely stunning. Included waterfalls, gardens, cliffsides, lakes and more. He was also very informative and did an incredible job answering all of our questions. You will learn a profound amount about this region in Ireland. 10/10 would recommend.

Off the charts amazing experience ... John was our driver, guide, wise man. He told us about every neighborhood we went through, the history and interesting facts, talked about life in Ireland in general, was interested in us and we felt comfortable with him the whole time. I hope he does other tours -- if he does, I will sign up on my next trip. The car was comfortable and clean -- it was a great day. Joyce R.

Terrific Upscale Experience

A terrific day! Stephen was our driver and he was fantastic. He worked with us to tailor the trip to what we wanted. He also made some recommendations for off the beaten path spots that were perfect and his insight was entertaining and informative. The sights were gorgeous and the restaurant he recommended was fabulous. The combination of sights, conversation, the car and Stephen’s attention to every detail made this a truly upscale and outstanding day.
