Traveler reviews
Fantastic tour of the Monuments/Memorials
We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable And friendly which made the tour a most enjoyable experience. The driver was also very friendly and safely got us around the sites. I would highly recommend this tour experience.
Great Experience!
This was a much better experience than Old Towne Trolleys in DC. We missed out on a lot the 1st day because OTT picked up more like every 30-45 minutes than the 15-20 they state. Plus this tour had a driver AND a tour guide! The tour guides were great. They know DC!
Well worth the money.
Great tour for quick overview of sites. A/C bus and cold water provided. Sam was great guide and Lea was great driver.
Not so fast!
Kinda a bait-and-switch. Seating was supposed to be first-come-first-served. But the driver kept telling everyone “you can’t sit there””!” The first 35 minutes we drove around with no tour guide. We listened to two drivers tell us about their second jobs and where to find a hotdog stand. The guide, Sam, got on board after the first 35 minutes and was very knowledgeable but needed constant validation of what he was saying, using “right” “ok” “alright”. After a total of three hours, most everyone was dropped off for lunch, including our tour guide. And we were told the tour was over! I had spoken with Calvin, one of the drivers about this at our last stop. He just made excuses that there were detours. I told him about my disappointment of paying for a 4-hour guided tour and getting a 2.5-hour tour. I had suggested the Jefferson Memorial as we were relatively close. So after the majority was dropped off, with our guide, Calvin announced that we would go to the Jefferson Memorial and see also where the dirt from the White House ballroom addition was being stored. (That was definitely at the top of my list!) But he said he couldn’t say anything about those sites because he wasn’t a guide. There was no intention of this being a 4-hour guided tour.
Learned so much in just six hours.
Joey was an excellent guide and Jackie was an excellent driver. I learned so much about each place we visited. The one thing I would change would be to go to Arlington Cemetery instead of taking the boat tour.
