Full description

The Quiet Man Film Locations Walking Tour is a must for fans of the John Wayne classic, The Quiet Man. The guided tour brings visitors to the original film locations including Inisfree, Castletown, the Pat Cohan's Bar, the Dying Man's House, the Reverend Playfair's House, the fight scenes, the courting scenes and the "patty fingers in the holy water" scenes. Visitors hear: what happened when Hollywood invaded the sleepy village of Cong in 1951; what the film stars were like; how they interacted with the locals; and how the locals became intimately involved in the making of the movie. The tour includes entrance to The Quiet Man Museum. Visitors can dress up in costume for photos and re-enactments. A great interactive experience full of good old Irish craic. The walking tour and museum entry last approximately 1 hour. The tour consists of a short, easy stroll around the village of Cong with stops every few minutes at the movie locations.

If You Like The Movie You’ll Love the Tour

Gerry was an absolute delight in sharing his knowledge and stories about the beautiful village of Cong and the making of the movie. He has a great sense of humour and this tour was one of the highlights of our first trip to Ireland. If you like the movie, you’ll love this tour! Especially when he picks people in the group to dress up as some of the main characters inside the Thornton’s home.

This is a great tour for...

This is a great tour for any Quiet Man fans and an easy walking tour. The guide shows you all the places in Cong that are in the film and gives backstory information about the production. The museum is incredible as well.

What a Storyteller!

Cong is a beautiful little town and this tour was perfect! Jerry is a master story teller, blending facts and humor in a way that kept us all engaged. If you come to Ireland, make sure you have a pint of Guinness, listen to some traditional music, and go on this tour!

A must for Quiet Man fans

A must for all Quiet Man fans! This tour was fantastic with an incredibly funny and lovely tour guide, Gerry. There isn’t anything Gerry doesn’t know and he celebrates the village and the film beautifully. It is real value for money and we all thoroughly enjoyed the tour, especially a surprise serenade at the John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara statue on John Wayne’s birthday! Thank you Gerry. We all loved it!
