Walking Tour of Dublin’s Viking/Medieval Quarter with a Viking

The Dublin Viking is amazing!!!! He made us laugh, relayed stories of his time on set on Valhalla and Viking series! He’s such a wonderful guide and so knowledgeable!

The Viking Legacy Trails tour is, without question, the best way to see and appreciate Ireland. It didn’t just teach us history; it transported us into it. At every stop, I felt like I was standing in the very moment Ireland was being shaped, watching the Viking world unfold around me. I learned more about Viking history than I ever imagined possible. I had no idea they were such forward thinkers, that women could hold the keys, own property, divorce, and even reclaim their dowry. Those details alone changed the way I see the Viking era, but what made it truly special was being able to stand where they stood. Walking through Dublin, I realized how much I would have missed on my own. I never would have noticed the stones where artifacts were found: combs, keys, knives, everyday items that suddenly felt monumental when you’re standing right where they were uncovered. I wouldn’t have recognized where the gateways once stood or understood how the city was shaped without physically walking the paths they walked. It made the history feel alive, tangible, and deeply personal. Our tour guide was phenomenal, incredibly knowledgeable, fully in character, and completely committed to making the experience immersive. He didn’t rush, didn’t cut corners, and didn’t treat the tour like a job. Even when everyone else canceled, he still showed up for us. Most people would have said, “Sorry, not enough participants,” but he didn’t. He took his time, made it memorable, and gave us a story we’ll be telling for the rest of our lives. It was meaningful, magical, and absolutely worth every moment.

Fabulous tour with Bren. He is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, engaging and funny. He speaks clearly and with passion for the topic, leads the group safely through Dublin from site to site and gets the group into full-on Viking mode. Highly recommend this tour with Bren!

If you're visiting Dublin this is a must do. Learn about Dublin's viking history in a very informative and fun way. I was I a group but it felt so personalised. The guide was great and definitely knows his stuff and throws himself into the viking roll totally and you can't help getting involved. Great value for money too as it lasts age's and to get to see parts of Dublin history you'd miss otherwise. And make sure you do the viking banquet after as an add on afterwards. Set in a great bar with viking banquet table set up and amazing food and drink, again great value for money.. we all had a great time. Its a 5star + tour.

I took my 9 and 5 year old grandchildren and they were mesmerized...can't stop talking about the adventure, especially getting their faces painted like little Vikings and walking a wolf! It's great fun for all ages. I give this 10/10 stars!
