Just beyond the candy-colored buildings of the Art Deco district is this must-see museum and garden, Villa Vizcaya, where the early days of the Magic City are beautifully preserved in the architecture and spirit. 4 hour duration includes pickup and drop off Villa Vizcaya was once the winter residence of industrialist James Deering and was designed as a palatial Italian Villa on tropical Biscayne Bay. He filled it with European art, state of the art technology and surrounded it with beautiful gardens that will transport you back to a golden age 100 years ago.

Vizcaya: A valuable experience well planned.
Our driver to Vizcaya and return was on time and courteous, as was the welcome we received at the admissions booth. Without Trip Advisor to guide us with information and verify daily the pickup location we were able to relax and enjoy fully our experience. The tour of the museum was enlightening and a 20-minute talk by our guide valuable for it's history in that golden era
An expensive museum, and museum that would be????
The gardens are spectacular, but the museum itself is not worth much, they are $25 per person, admission, and the truth that much is not worth it. The place is dreamt of, but it doesn't have much historical support. It's more for a nice Instagram photo.

Beautiful home and gardens ! Great audio program detailing all he rooms and the history of the mansion and grounds . Definitely a worthwhile trip !
Beautiful but the tour time was too long.
The mansion was beautiful as were the gardens. 4 hours was too long for our self guided tour. We finished in 1 1/2 hours. We left in an Uber rather than waiting another 2 1/2 hours for our pickup. If you like beautiful old mansions then go.
Call an Uber or Lyft instead
I love using the Viator travel app whenever I travel - even to other countries. This is the first time in many, many years that I don’t think it was worth the price. You could easily order a Lyft or Uber and buy your tickets at the gate. Then you wouldn’t feel like you need to watch the clock so much in order to be picked up on time. Keep shopping for tours on Viator, but skip out on this option.
